    Superb experience with Joyce and BASH

    Selecting Joyce and BASH as our wedding coordinator was one of the very best decisions we made in wedding planning. Our wedding was in Washington but we live overseas, so I knew up front we would need some level of assistance. Joyce put together a package that worked for us, allowing us to do some of the early planning, but was available by phone or email any time we needed to bounce ideas off her. We initially settled on a venue, but Joyce's detailed budgets and advice on vendors made us realize what we thought was a simple set-up was actually far more complex and would be significantly more expensive than we'd envisioned. The savings in cost and headache Joyce achieved on that decision alone was worth her fee. As the big day drew nearer, Joyce took over all planning, which was a wonderful relief. I had utter confidence in her decision-making. On our wedding day, Joyce and her assistants were omnipresent, and we were able to relax and just enjoy. Beyond anything else, Joyce's calming presence and zen attitude were exactly what we and our families needed to truly appreciate the experience and live in the moment. I can't recommend her highly enough.

    Can't say enough!

    We hired Joyce of Bash Events to be our "day of" coordinator. From our initial conversation, I knew we made a good choice. Joyce started working with us a month out to coordinate directly with our vendors and create a complete minute by minute schedule for our day. Her professionalism, deep experience in wedding planning, and her outstanding coordination skills helped our wedding day come together exactly as we had hoped it would. She was also truly a pleasure to work with and an excellent sounding board fielding questions from me along the way. I highly recommend adding her services to your planning efforts!

    Great experience working with Joyce & the Bash Team

    We hired Joyce from Bash Events for a wedding this past September as our "day of" coordinator and to help us with the event design.

    Joyce and her team met and exceeded all of our requirements. As the other reviews have alluded to, Joyce goes well beyond "day of" duties. She and her team took the reins two months out, drafting the schedule, coordinating walk-throughs with vendors, and ensuring everyone was on the same page. She was also a perpetual sounding board for any and all wedding questions and concerns we had throughout the process.

    As someone who has a nose for detail and wanted the day to unfold a certain way, Joyce's team delivered soundly. On the wedding day, someone from Bash was always a few feet away from us to address any issues that arose (in our case, a missing wedding license before the ceremony).

    We would highly recommend Joyce and Bash for anyone looking for excellent service, great value, and flawless execution.

    We really enjoyed working with Joyce from Bash and she ensured our wedding planning and our actual wedding day ran efficiently and smoothly. Joyce had so many creative ideas for our reception and her planning experience is a real asset. Joyce's skills in organization, logistics, and communication helped us pull together a variety of vendors in a coordinated way. She is professional, punctual, and was so pleasant to work with throughout the planning process. We were able to completely enjoy our wedding day and reception because we were in the excellent hands of Joyce and her assistant Erin from Bash!

    My mom, husband and I did most of the planning for our November wedding, but knew we wanted a day-of-coordinator from the very beginning so that we could sit back and relax on the big day. This was the best decision that we made.

    Joyce was absolutely AMAZING. From the moment she started working with me I felt instant relief. She was so detail oriented and helped with anything we asked for advice on. She really went above and beyond just day-of services, which was so very much appreciated in the hectic weeks leading up to the wedding day.

    On the day of the wedding Joyce and her assistant, Elizabeth, were incredible. They were so professional and had every little detail just perfect. I wasn't aware of anything that went wrong and had the best day of my life without having to worry about anything at all.

    If you're at all hesitant about hiring a coordinator (or even a planner) I would say go for it. You're going to be so happy that you did. Especially if you choose Joyce!!!!

    We made the decision to work with Joyce and the Bash team for day-of coordination and have absolutely no regrets about the decision, from start to finish, she was spectacular.

    During the period leading up to our wedding, Joyce was responsive, professional and helpful every step of the way. As anyone who's gone through the wedding process can tell you, planning a wedding involves a lot of decisions large and small. Having a resource like Joyce who could deliver her experience and knowledge through top notch service was absolutely invaluable. There were countless times where we went to her to inform our decision making, use as a sounding board for ideas and execute on putting concepts to action. Additionally, during the hectic period immediately preceding the wedding, having Joyce around to keep us calm and focused on the process was an absolute necessity.

    On the big day itself, everything went off without a hitch. Whether it be directing vendors, getting us to where we needed to be or making sure the festivities stayed on track, Joyce was in command of it all, allowing us to focus on what was most important to us, enjoying our wedding! Joyce was organized and kept us as informed as we needed to make sure everything ran smoothly. Also she was extremely flexible in adjusting the plan to our changing desires throughout the night. We can't imagine what the night would have been like without Joyce by our side.

    If you're considering going with Joyce and the Bash team or on the fence about hiring her as a planner, don't hesitate. It will be prove to be a great decision, providing you with peace of mind leading up to the wedding and the chance to enjoy the festivities the day of.

    I cannot imagine a more brilliant, professional, responsive event planner than Joyce. She was essential to making my wedding everything that I hoped it would be and hiring her was *the best* decision we made. She ended up being so much more than an event planner: she was an etiquette expert, a design maven, a confidant. And, she was a ton of fun to work with.

    When I first began planning the big day, I thought I was only going to get a day-of planner. We secured our venue, contracted with a florist and band, and began coasting. But a month before the wedding, I started panicking. My florist wasn't being responsive, and there was so much left to do, but I was completely overwhelmed.

    Joyce swooped in and saved the day. She immediately began preparing to-do lists for me, calling my florist, etc. And, she saved me a ton of money: I had told her that I was over budget and feeling very stressed out, so one of the first things she did was review my contracts and help me cut some of the unnecessary costs out.

    Also, on day one I had expressed a concern that the wedding didn't have enough "personality." Joyce had endless suggestions, and, because she had lifted such a burden from my shoulders, I was able to follow through on them: we made trivia napkins, designed specialty drinks, came up with a unique favor, had fun table activities, etc. When we did our rounds, every guest had a small detail that they wanted to rave about.

    Lastly, on the day of, there were many times when things could have fallen apart (including me). But, I wasn't stressed at all, because Joyce was always there making things work. For example, we had a pop-up ceremony during cocktail hours with a few dozen moving pieces. Joyce had drawn up the schedule, and then day of, executed it flawlessly.

    I could not feel more proud of the wedding nor more grateful to Joyce for everything she did. She truly goes above and beyond and made the day filled with a few dozen of my favorite memories.

    We hired Bash about 4 months before our wedding to help us with vendors, coordination, and styling; they provided something between full and day-of planning, since we already had a venue and a caterer. We worked with Joyce, and we chose her in part because she was the only wedding coordinator who did not sound alarmed by our general state of disarray. She was awesome. I was able to offload a portion of my brain to Joyce and kill that horrible "am I forgetting something?" feeling that plagues every bride. She kept us on task, she made great vendor recommendations, and she really helped us figure out where to spend money to make the event feel elegant on a reasonable budget. We did not have much of a vision for our wedding - we just wanted for it not to take over our lives, for it not to be terribly wasteful, and for our guests to feel loved and to have a great time. She took this scant guidance and a pretty limited budget for flowers and decor (for the DC area) and put together a wedding that was far beyond our expectations. And best of all, she's just a lovely, pleasant person and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend Bash, and Joyce specifically, without reservation.

    If anyone is hesitant to spend money on full-planning services, I can assure you that working with Terri is worth every penny. We hired Terri for full-planning, so we worked with her for nine months leading up to the wedding, on the actual day of our wedding, and even worked with her to tie up a few loose ends afterwards. We interviewed quite a few planners who seemed very promising. However we decided to go with Terri due to her experience in planning events for so many years, art and design background, and positive yet calm personality.

    Throughout the planning process, which started shortly after we got engaged, she helped keep us on track and gave us valuable advice and expertise. I was not the type of bride who had been planning her wedding for years. In fact I didn’t really know much about weddings, so I had A LOT of questions. Terri was so helpful and professional throughout, helping me understand how everything worked. I didn’t have any background in décor or design, but I had an idea in my head of how I wanted the event to look and feel. Terri took my ideas and created a beautiful event that was even better than I imagined!!

    What was most valuable was her relationships with various vendors. We knew that using vendors through her meant that everything would be seamless on the big day, which gave us peace of mind. Bash works with reliable and hard-working vendors, which allowed us to be relaxed and happy on our wedding day. We were able to focus on being “guests” at our own wedding, dancing and socializing, while Terri worked efficiently and harmoniously with all the vendors behind the scenes. I am very picky and particular about logistics (everyone has their thing they care about) and the entire day was FLAWLESS, thanks to Terri and her team.

    If you want to have a momentous, beautiful, and magical day I highly recommend Terri and her team at Bash for full-planning services.

    We worked with Sarah and would recommend her to anyone needing a day of coordinator! We met with Sarah and knew she would be a great fit right away. We started working with her about eight weeks out and worked on coordinating all the vendors, making sure bills were paid, and that the schedule was set. The day of her and her assistant (AdeOla) did a Fantastic job! They were on top of everything, made sure things were set up the way they needed to be, and were there to help out the whole night! At the end they even made sure all the vendors were out on time and everything was done as it should be. She was extremely personal and very responsive to any questions we had. I would highly recommend working with Bash!

    We had our wedding at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and from the start, we knew we would want the help of a day-of coordinator. We decided to work with Sarah at Bash. Sarah was familiar with our venue and our vendors, and she helped guide us through the final preparations for our wedding so that we knew exactly what to expect on the big day. Throughout the ceremony and reception, Sarah made sure everyone knew where to be and when; she kept everything running on schedule; and made sure everyone was out on time. Sarah made the planning process and the wedding night stress-free. I can’t imagine how we would have done it without her!

    (Our wedding was actually on July 28th) Terri Eaves and all of the staff at Bash were AMAZING! We will forever be grateful for all of the assistance in planning the wedding of our dreams. Terri was kind, compassionate, attentive, always professional and an overall god send to my husband and me! She would offer great advice and reputable vendors with which to work.     We chose Bash for our wedding day-of-coordination and highly recommend Terri and her staff!

    We interviewed a number of coordinators and chose Bash because of Terri’s experience in wedding planning and relationships with our vendors. She had worked with many of them before and knew what to adjust for. We were hesitant at first because Bash had never worked at our specific venue (Westin Georgetown) while all of our other potential coordinators did. Nevertheless, we felt that Terri’s experience and pro-activeness would make up for that. Also, since this is her business, she was completely vested in the quality and service provided.

    Day-of-coordination service really began about a month before our wedding. Leading up to the big day, she maintained contact with the vendors to manage logistics (parking, loading/unloading, etc) and really incorporated our personal touches into the day of timeline. We liked that she had a solid day of template to work from and put in our personalizations (slideshow, extra speeches/toasts, etc). As Project Management professionals, we were sticklers for using MS office applications (MS Word, Excel) to manage things and realized that not everyone uses all the features in those applications so that is one thing to keep in mind if you are OCD and tech saavy!

    However, the day of the wedding is really organized chaos and we can’t imagine having another team. Terri was calm and collected to handle issues that came up and directed events with just the right amount of “take charge” attitude to be to effective but not overbearing. For example, we mislabeled some escort cards and had people at the wrong tables, but she shuffled guests around without being intrusive. She was able to do this because of good preparation - reviewing the table layouts, guest list, entree selections, etc.

    We would definitely pick Bash again!

    Sarah was such a gem to work with! We hired her for month-of coordination services, and honestly, I can't believe we ever considered not doing it. At first I thought, well, I'll save the money and set everything up myself. Then as I started planning, I realized, oh, well, I guess I'll probably have a million other things going on that day. That's where Sarah and her team came in, and I'm not sure we could have done it without her! We discussed the main concept during our intial consultation, and we provided her with our decor, programs, favors, etc. the day before the wedding. Sarah and her staff organized and coordinated our special day flawlessly. I had an idea of how I wanted the ceremony and reception to look; Sarah made it even better! She was also essential in coordinating our vendors and provided a thorough (and incredibly useful) timeline of events to keep everything organized. At the end of the night, Sarah and her team packed everything for us, ahead of the strict contract end-time at our venue (avoiding any additional rental charges). Like I said, I'm not sure we could have done it without Sarah! She allowed us to have such fun at our wedding, enjoying the company of loved ones, rather than worrying about logistics. The best part is her calm sensibility - weddings are like a walk in the park for her. Considering how overwhelming the details of that special day might seem, Sarah's presence lets you know everything is going to be just fine. And it was more than fine - it was perfect.     Words can't fully express how grateful we are for the wonderful work Sarah and her team did for us on our wedding day at Woodend Sanctuary. I first spoke with Sarah several months before my wedding when investigating day of planning services. She responded immediately to my inquiry and we had a long chat over the phone about the details of our wedding, our vision for the day, and how Sarah and her team could help execute some ideas we had. I immediately felt that Sarah 'got' the feel of the kind of day we wanted for our friends, family, and ourselves. Sarah's professionalism, sense of humor, and warm personality was apparent to me on that first phone call. I had investigated many other event planning companies and was really put off by the attitude from some, particularly a sense of unwarranted pretentiousness. Sarah was the complete opposite and I decided that should we go forward with a day-of planner, we would go with her.

    I initially resisted going with a day-of planner. We were planning our wedding from overseas and thought that we would rely on friends and family in the area to help us bring together the little details and coordination for our big day. Six weeks before the wedding, however, panic (and a wee reality check) set in. I had a lot of DIY elements I wanted to incorporate for our outdoor ceremony and reception and though we were delegating items to friends, I really wanted our loved ones to just enjoy themselves that day, especially those that had travelled great distances to be with us.

    We were incredibly grateful and relieved to discover Sarah was still available for our day. Just speaking with her then was incredibly calming, and our discussions of putting together an itinerary, liasing with other vendors, discussing the set up of all our myriad projects immediately began. To say I had peace of mind amidst the chaos in the weeks prior to our day would be an understatement. Sarah was always available to discuss ideas, change of plans, and completely bent over backwards to bring together our ideas in a very short span of time.

    I only regret that we hadn't made the decision to work with Sarah earlier. On the day of the wedding, she was just amazing. Everything seemed just beautifully fluid and effortless that day from her work coordinating the extensive set up of our projects, to the ceremony, dinner and dancing. If there were any hiccups that day we never noticed them, which would be testament to her skill and professionalism. Beyond her talents, she's also such a lovely person and I couldn't have asked for a better point person to have on that day. My guests and family commented frequently on how seamless the wedding went because of her and her team.

    I've never been a gushy wedding person and was never the girl who planned her wedding when she was 8. My wedding day, though, was truly one of the happiest days of my life and I am grateful for Sarah's help in making it just that. Hiring a day-of planner was one of the smartest decisions we made (one I wish we did sooner!) and erased a great deal of stress and anxiety. We couldn't recommend Sarah more and very much hope we get to see her in DC in the near future to thank her again.

    I'm writing to provide a much belated, but very deserved glowing review of Bash! My husband and I did most of the planning for our April 2012 wedding. However, we knew that we wanted a day of coordinator to help facilitate our dream wedding. Choosing Bash, and particularly Cara, was perhaps the best decision of our wedding!

    We got married at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, DC which offers an absolutely gorgeous event space. However, the site itself does not necessarily handle all of the day of items that need attention. This is where Cara and her team from Bash came in.

    Throughout the entire planning process Cara was unbelievably professional. She allayed any nerves and fears that I had and made me feel as though everything was under control leading up to the big day. The day of, when we realized we had left our marriage certificate at home (less than two hours before the wedding!) Cara calmly approached me and helped me develop a plan to get the certificate and ensure that everything would go off without a hitch.

    The entire evening was perfect. My husband and I still can't believe how smooth everything went. I know that we wouldn't have been able to accomplish this without the thorough planning and foresight of the team at Bash. Do not underestimate how important having a day of coordinator is! Bash makes the entire event run smoothly and allows you and your guests to enjoy the party!

    Thank you again Cara and the rest of the team at Bash for making our wedding the absolute best day of my life!

    Terri was the best and most valuable person I hired for my wedding. I met with several planners and chose Terri, because she was organized, had a great track record and because she was a genuinely nice person.

    If you are considering hiring a planner and are worried about the cost, I can't express enough how hiring the right planner will pay off. Terri helped me select a great team of vendors, kept track of all the contracts and kept the ball rolling with regard to my wedding. Terri's experience is helpful because she knows not only which vendors are going to provide high quality services, but also which vendors are right for a particular couple.

    Throughout the process my Mother would say, "I don't know what we'd do without Terri." Well I know what we would have done. We would have been very stressed out and we probably would have hired mediocre vendors among other things. Terri found us the most remarkable DJ and photographer. Without her I might have gone in a different direction and not known the wiser.

    Even if all Terri did was help us hire our vendors and organize everything leading up to the wedding, I would still tell you she was worth every penny. But the thing is, Terri's services in the weeks and days leading up to the wedding were spectacular. On the day of the wedding, I literally didn't have to worry about anything accept for getting ready and and getting my family out of the door. Terri and her team made sure everything was in place. I was able to spend my wedding day with my family and friends, I ate my dinner, had some cake and danced the night a way with my new husband. My sister in law told me the next day that I seemed like I was really enjoying my wedding and that I looked "present". I can tell you that was 100% the result of Terri's work.

    I would recommend Terri to any couple looking for a planner. She's professional, talented, experienced and most importantly she's going to make you feel comfortable with whatever direction you go in planning your wedding.

    Terri was such a god-send for the entire stretch of my wedding planning. Throughout my busy work schedule, she was able to help keep me on track on everything I needed to get done for the wedding. After interviewing several planners and almost deciding to just save my money, I decided to interview one more planner and have never regretted it since I met Terri. She's bright, passionate, and was exactly what I was looking for in a planner. Working with Terri was like working with a close girl friend who's super excited about your wedding. But Terri's even better than that since she's very organized, has lots of experience, and knows when to step in with a firm hand with reminders on things I have yet to get done on my wedding.

    Terri has great ideas and worked with creating what I wanted for my semi cultural wedding. But where Terri truly excels is was my day of. Everything went just as planned and better than I could have expected. She made sure my day went smoothly which allowed me to actually enjoy my day with my husband. My parents loved how they felt as ease too with Terri to take care of all the details of the day. My wedding was beautiful and stress-free, thanks to her.

    Terri was phenomenal to work with! I can't sing her praises enough. She was always such a calm presence and on top of every detail. I quickly learned I could trust Terri to take care of the big and little things that popped up along the way.

    Terri was able to make the daunting task of planning a wedding manageable. Prioritizing and keeping us on track. All the vendors she recommended were top notch. We loved working with every one of them and were able to relax knowing we were hiring quality people who she had worked with many times before.

    Terri is also super responsive, always answering emails quickly and letting her clients know well in advance if she is going to be away from email for any period of time.

    The day of the wedding is where Terri really shines. She was able to bring everything together beautifully- executing the large and small details perfectly. After our wedding day I had guests telling us it was the most beautiful and Fun wedding they had ever been to. We owe so much of that to Terri. She really honed in on our own personal taste and aesthetic and was able to help us create a beautiful day that felt true to our own style.

    Of all the things we spent our wedding money on, Terri was definitely the most valuable.

    Terri Eaves helped make my wedding a truly memorable event. She was very helpful in the planning, giving advice and suggestions to a bride who was uncertain about some of the process. Also, she paid great attention to detail. Most important, I feel that her presence the day of the wedding was invaluable. I was able to enjoy the day and not worry. She knew what I wanted, and I was able to leave it all to her and her assistants. She handled unexpected events well. For example, a couple brought two guests who were not invited, but she found seating for them discreetly. I wholeheartedly recommend Terri and her services.

    We loved working with Bash! We used Bash for day of service but looking back would have loved to use them for full wedding planning. It was worth every penny!

    Terri and her staff did a wonderful job accomodating my needs as well as my guests' needs. I hired Terri because of her promptness with returning my emails, I never had to wait longer than maybe a couple of hours at the most before she returned my emails. We met and she worked really well with the coordinator from the reception site. She arrived to the reception early, came to my room and collected my items, she set up everything really nicely. I received so many compliments from my husband and my parents about how they were so attentive to them. She sent me a report after the wedding detailing everything that went on at the reception. She was really helpful considering the fact that the whole bridal party was running late to the reception and she was very flexible in making changes. I really recommend Terri, she really impressed me and my guests!

    We are so glad we hired Terri to help us with day of planning. When it came down to the last minute details I was so grateful to be able to turn it over to Terri. She was ready and very good about handling everything. It was such a relief. She was very flexible, during the rehearsal ceremony some of the attendees were very late and she stayed and went over it more than once to make sure everyone was on track. During the whole planning process she was very responsive to all of my emails. She was good with the flower girl and ring bearer who needed some extra coaxing. She alerted me to some details that were being set up for the reception that she didn't think I'd like. If she hadn't told me I wouldn't have seen it until I walked into the wedding tent for the dance. We would not have been able to have the day that we did without her.

    Terri was amazing to work with! Always professional and easy to talk to. She took our ideas and turned our vision of our Wedding day into a reality. With her help we were able to completely enjoy our day without a single worry. She is an exceptional coordinator and we feel really lucky to have found her.

    There is no way Dave and I could have pulled off such a beautiful ceremony and reception without the help of Terri. She was always very quick to respond to emails and phone calls and she sent us bi-weekly emails to keep us on track. Our wedding was magical and it couldn't have been done without her.
