Hello Brandi, Thank you for the review on our place. Before Getting in to the details Venue 142 would like to state that we as a Mom and Pop Venue Hall ran by 4 people, do our best to fit everyones budget and everyones personal needs but that we do work on multiple parties all at the same time. Our Company also tries to accommodate the less fortunate in our community and give back as much as we can by discounting or donating our time and products. With that being said we will now jump into the details of this disgruntled Bride.

After reviewing the email thread that you and our coordinator had there was a lack of evidence pointing to the 5-7 day gap in response time. However there were a few times that her response time lagged due to outside circumstances as well as COVID-19. When COVID-19 became an issue and we were shut down the emails sent to her were not responded immediately or in a timely manner because she did not have the proper information to give you an accurate response for your refund. Which is clearly stated in our contract that you signed if the event is less that 59 days away there is no refund given. BUT our coordinator was able to give you a refund of your entire event not including your deposit.

As far as the meetings she “missed, didn’t show up to, or came late to." She had stated that she was at the doctors with her child who just got over RSV and had multiple check ups to make she she did not have phenomena. She also emailed you that one of the meetings she had scheduled with you was missed because WE as a catering company took on a last minute catering she had to work and her babysitter could not arrive until noon.

Now as far as the pricing yes our prices vary in many types of ways. You came to us with a $1,000 budget for your wedding including venue staff food and bar. Unfortunately we as Venue 142 tired to accommodate your budget which was a mistake on our end and a lesson for us. For weddings our venue is $2,500 our coordinator gave you a huge discount of $1,700 for your venue space. Our coordinators who are MANDATORY for all weddings were quoted at $700 were willing to do all meetings all day of coordination, as well as serve and work your wedding or $400 instead of having you pay for 2 servers a bar tender and the two of them, so I do have to say that was another huge discount. As far as the dance floor goes that is another MANDATORY item required when there is a DJ at the event. The dance floor is $200 and our coordinator discounted it to $100. You did ask her what the price for just the space is with no food and it was stated that the venue would be $1,600 due to the fact that we as a business still have to pay our bills and our chef regardless. Our wedding food menus start at $20 and up per person and our coordinator gave you a quote saying we could get it down to $15 per person. Then she went and gave you another $.50 off per person. You the decided to add a $200 bar tab to the bill. For $1,000 to jump up to $2,215 seemed perfectly fine at the time but now it's a problem.

SOO all in all as Venue 142 I have to say thank you for this lesson and next time we go above and beyond for a $1,000 bride we will make sure not to give discounts and simply say sorry our venue is to expensive for you because clearly trying to accommodate all budgets bit us in the butt this time.
