User2181327 Sent on 06/15/2015Cakes by Cynthia was great! I almost forgot to order my cake ( I didn't have a wedding planner)... I was able to order my cake the Monday before my wedding and it was delivered to our reception location the day of our wedding. What a life saver! -

User2224187 Sent on 07/13/2015Horrrible service i would not recommend anyone to her she is really disrespectful that would make you want to you know what she doesnt know how to communicate i guess her pregnancy is getting to her head the people who work with her is horrible they sit on their phones do not acknowledge the customers at all cake was totally no edible -

I would not use this baker, at all. I bought a groupon as a test for presentation, taste and professionalism for my upcoming wedding. After the groupon was bought I attempted several times through e-mail and phone calls to contact the "business" all with no return response. I even contacted Groupon in an attempt to have them mediate. I was told that I would receive a call back from Cynthia within 3 business days. After waiting a full week I decided that it was no longer worth my time and had them refund my money. If you want someone that is responsive I would not use this baker. -
User1348194 Sent on 09/25/2013I would not recommend this baker to my worst enemy; I reached out to Cynthia 2 months prior to my event. In my intital communication I sent specific details pertaining to the cake and had several follow up conversations as well. Cynthia received my deposit immediately after our intial communication and the final payment a month ahead of the due date. On the day of event she delivered the cake 2 hours late (I had to reach out to her for the status of the deliver b/c she did not contact me regarding tardiness) and upon her arrival the cake was unfinished and damaged. I informed Cynthnia of my disaapoinment, however my event had to go on. A day after the event I reached out to Cynthia expressing my concerns once again, she informed me that she would refund me a portion of the cost due to inconvenience; the was July 29th and as of today (September 25th) I have not received my refund nor will she answer any calls or respond to my emails. -
User1229113 Sent on 07/05/2013My experience with Cakes By Cynthia in Baltimore MD was really disappointing. I was a groupon customer who placed an order a month and a half before the event for which I needed the cupcakes for. When I placed my order I spoke with a woman- she told me not to freeze the cupcakes, where to pick them up and was very specific that pickup orders are done between 12-5 on Fridays ( the day I was scheduled to pick up my order). When I went to pick them up not only did no one answer the phone but there was a very unsettling voice mail stating that groupon orders are no longer being filled because they were too booked for wedding season. When someone finally answered the door the woman was surprised, tried to argue with me that I didn't place an order and they had no cupcakes to give me- she offered no solution, she did apologize however she made sure to repeat many times how they are too busy... As a consumer I understand getting in over ones head and that's not the customers problem- not only did no one contact me regarding my order not being able to be filled but the business offered a half ass apologie with no restitution. I do not recommend using this bakery.
