  Excellent Experience working with Carla & team!

  Working with Carla and her team was so easy. She was able to do exactly what we envisioned with our hair and make up. Everyone in our wedding that worked with Carla and her team had a great experience as well. She even stuck around to do touchups right before our ceremony (after she was scheduled to leave)! Carla is extremely professional and affable, and made everything so simple and easy. We highly recommend working with her for whatever type of event you might have. She really can make anything happen!

  The absolute best

  I’m so glad that I found Carla and was able to book her for my wedding! She was so easy to work with and is so talented. I have the type of hair that most stylists have no idea what to do with (or have bothered to learn how to style), but thankfully Carla was able to manage my hair and make me feel beautiful on my wedding day. She also did a fabulous job at my makeup and made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. Her team was also phenomenal and made all of my bridesmaids, sisters, and mother in law look gorgeous! We all have very different hair and skin types, and for all of us to have looked and felt good truly speaks volumes to the standards and level of talent that the entire team possesses. I will definitely reach out to her again for future events, and cannot recommend her enough. Absolutely wonderful experience.

  Perfection!

  Carla's team was absolute perfection from start to finish! They made me look (and feel) like the most beautiful bride in the world and did the same for my bridesmaids and family members. They were warm, funny and engaging also offered great recommendations. My wedding party was made up of various ethnicities and ages and they did a fabulous job on everyone and had a great array of products for both hair and make up that worked for all. I can't recommend them highly enough! Sarah, Nas and Lorraine were the BEST!

  Carla and team were lovely!

  Carla was wonderful and is a truly kind and passionate person, I'm so glad she did my hair and makeup for my wedding! She made me look and feel beautiful and would always ask for my opinion and thoughts before moving forward with any part of the styling process. She was super responsive to any changes I wanted to my hair/makeup and was flexible with her time and services. Her team was professional and listened to what my bridesmaids wanted with their hair/makeup as well. I also booked Carla for touchups before/after my ceremony and she did a full hairstyle change (transitioned from hair down to up-do) and touched up my bridesmaids as well, going above and beyond!
  
  The only thing I would note is that invoicing was a little confusing, I had to do a bit of back and forth to make sure all my services were listed (granted, I also added extra services at various points after the initial contract). I believe she was transitioning her admin team, so that might be a reason for the confusion.

  We used Carla service for makeup and hair for a bridal shower. We cannot say enough great things about Carla. She is such a beautiful person inside and out! She is first-class service all the way!   Felt like a radiant princess

  Carla created an amazing experience throughout the entire event. She was calm, and punctual during the gettin ready time. She did my mom, my aunt and my makeup and hair and it was absolutely perfect. She stayed until after the ceremony to ensure our hair and makeup was good and it felt personalized and very professional.

  Wedding Day Magic

  What can I say about Carla Pressley and her team, besides WOW!! I had an amazing experience with Carla from booking, to my make up trial, and then on my wedding day. Carla and her team are super responsive to email, and I had a great and informational consultation call with Carla when I first inquired. Following that, I came in for a hair and make-up trial before my official booking as I wanted to make sure this was the right fit. I had a great and comfortable experience that I booked right away! On my wedding day, Carla and her team were on time, set up their stations, and got to work, easily holding conversation with me and my bridal party and staying on schedule. Carla and her team took their time with each girl, and customized their experience, starting by asking them if they had any dislikes or allergies, and at the end, asking what they would change/fix and what they liked about their look before making final adjustments. Carla worked her magic and made all of us feel beautiful and confident in our hair and makeup looks. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Carla is very busy, and rightfully so, so if you are thinking of booking her for your wedding or other event, do not hesitate and secure her now!

  So happy we chose her for our DC elopement!

  I am not a hair and makeup girl, so I really put my trust in Carla (well deserved, I felt, based off her awesome Youtube interviews and great connections, which I read about on her website while checking out her beautiful portfolio) and she 100% delivered!!! She looked over the couple of hair photos that I had for inspiration and then created a unique style that looked amazing. Of course, she checked with me multiple times to make sure I was happy with the direction it was going, handing me a mirror so I could check the front and back. Makeup was a breeze. She was lovely to chat with and took a super cute short video of me once I was in my dress, so that I had a little something to share with my anxiously-awaiting-updates stepmother and godmother.

  Best Hair/Makeup Team EVER!

  We hired Carla for our wedding and she did my bridal makeup/hair as well as my bridesmaids and my mother. We looked FANTASTIC! Carla was so receptive to my and everyone else's wants/needs and honestly it was the best hair/makeup experience I've ever had! My bridesmaids are still talking about how amazing Carla and her team were! One of my bridesmaids has very curly 3c/4a textured hair, and Carla took extra time to work with it and the final style turned out INCREDIBLE. Literally do not have enough good things to say about her and her team. 100% recommend for any and all hair/makeup needs!

  Simply put- Carla and her team were absolutely amazing and I was thrilled with her process and the results! My bridesmaids all looked beautiful and my hair and makeup were just what I had envisioned, but better. As a COVID bride, I had a lot of plans that had to change, and one of those was finding a new hair stylist and makeup artist shortly before our rescheduled wedding. I could not be happier that those plans had to change. From the first contact with Carla, she and her team were responsive, efficient, personable and incredibly easy to work with. I was not able to due a trial, but the morning of my wedding, Carla worked with me and my inspiration photos I had sent her and talked me through the look I was going for before we started. There were a lot of small things to stress about the day of the wedding, but thanks to Carla, hair and makeup certainly were not one of those things. Everything was run smoothly, and the end results were fantastic!

  Professional, Personable, True Artist, Curly Girl Friendly!

  Carla and did such an amazing job with my hair and makeup on my wedding day. She was extremely professional, personable, and made my bridesmaids and I feel so comfortable and beautiful on my wedding day! My makeup stayed on all day and night and my long, thick, curly hair didn't even fall out!

  Wonderful morning

  Carla and her crew were wonderful for my son's wedding in October, 2022. We had a lot of women who do not regularly wear make-up or style their hair and were a little apprehensive with how they would look.
  
  Carla & Crew did a wonderful job of listening to the Groomsmaids as to what they wanted and then proceeded to make each and everyone of them look beautiful.
  
  She also had such a calming influence during preparations. She was on top of getting everyone ready. Especially when I added 5 extra hair and make-ups to the morning.
  
  Carla even stayed around and touched up the Grooms during their professional photos before the ceremony.

  Best Hair and Makeup Artist in the DMV!

  Carla was an absolute pleasure to work with, from booking to our practice consultation, to the day of the wedding. She listened to what I wanted and had endless ideas of how to execute it. She's a true professional and amazing conversationalist (which is a bonus when you spend that many hours with someone!). I'd recommend her to anyone in D.C., VA, or MD, and I can't wait to have another special occasion to use her services again!

  Grateful to have had her on my team

  As an Asian female with uneven monolids, I wanted to make sure that whichever MUA I worked with for my wedding day was comfortable working with Asian features. Carla more than delivered, and I'm so glad to have had her as part of my vendor team.
  
  She and her team were responsive and proactive throughout the whole process, providing me with questionnaires to better understand my needs and preferences and updates to let me know what I should be aware of. During our hair and makeup trial, Carla examined the options I presented her and focused on understanding what I liked about each style/look. She never pushed me to decide anything on the spot, instead encouraging me to take time after our trial to sit with the photos she took of me and see which one I liked most. A few weeks before my wedding, I found a style that combined elements from multiple looks that we tested during the trial. She more than happily agreed to do it and said she’d practice the look before the big day.
  
  Carla was a calming presence on the morning of my wedding, working on the hairs and makeup for myself and my three bridesmaids. She kindly touched up the curls two of my bridesmaids had gotten from the Dry Bar even though she didn’t have to. All of our looks held up beautifully throughout the long and somewhat windy day. One of my friends has already asked me for Carla’s information for when she gets married herself.
  
  I have really come to appreciate Carla not just as a hair and makeup artist, but as a strong female entrepreneur with high standards and who cares about doing right by her teams and her clients. I respect the thoughtfulness with which she approaches her craft and business, and really look forward to the opportunity to work with her again in the future.

  Carla and her team are incredible. She delivers exactly on your inspiration pictures and is clearly very skilled on how to make sure that style lasts throughout your wedding day.   I got married 9/10/22 and Carla did my hair and makeup. She was AMAZING, so professional and very dedicated to getting everything perfect. I cannot emphasize enough how awesome her and her team were on my big day. She even stayed throughout the ceremony and the start of the reception to keep my hair and makeup looking fresh! She's the best and I would recommend her to ANYONE. 11/10 recommend

  Look no further - Carla is the best!

  In my humble opinion, Carla is the best out there. She has so much experience, an incredible resume, and is knowledgeable about hair and make up across hair textures and skin tones, which was important to me so that everyone in the bridal party looked and felt fabulous. I experienced some health issues that caused me to gain some weight around my face in the months leading up to our wedding, leaving me feeling a little self-conscious. Carla listened to my concerns and balanced perfectly between makeup technique that helped boost my confidence while still embracing myself as I was at the time. I genuinely felt so beautiful, and she had no issues handling my thick head of hair and swept everything up into an elegant updo that stayed all night. In addition to her expertise, Carla and her team were a very calming presence during a stressful morning leading up to the wedding - I can't thank them enough for their professionalism and kindness!

  Carla is the BEST!

  Carla is the best! I had a pretty diverse group of women so I needed someone who could work with a variety of hair textures as well as face structures and everyone including myself LOVED her work. She made me, my mothers and my bridesmaids feel 10/10. She is warm and personable as well so it was the best way to get ready for the big day!

  Carla and her team did the most AMAZING job at my May 2022 wedding. I honestly have never felt more beautiful! Not only did my hair and makeup come out exactly how I wanted it to (well, even better!), but Carla's calm energy was exactly what I needed. She was so kind and totally got me.
  
  She truly went above and beyond to not only make me feel beautiful, but also took the time to give my niece, who has 4B hair, a straightened hair look for the first time.
  
  I would recommend Carla and her team 100 times over. Schedule her as soon as you can - she books up far in advance!

She was extremely easy to work with from the time of inquiry through our wedding day, and was always super responsive and attentive.   From my hair and makeup trial to my wedding day, Carla was an absolute JOY to work with! I felt comfortable with her right away and I knew from the start that she would be an invaluable member of my wedding day team. During our trial, she squeezed in all of the looks I wanted to try and did a fantastic job of documenting them so that I could look everything over after the fact. She also gave me some helpful tips about products to use leading up to my wedding.
  
  On the big day, Carla and her assistant arrived early and were ready to go right when we needed them. Even with our tight schedule, she made it work while still helping to maintain a calm, fun environment. I loved every second of being in Carla’s chair. Carla and her team made us all look absolutely stunning with hair and makeup that lasted all day and all night.

  With no exaggeration, I felt and looked the most beautiful that I had ever been! Carla showed up on time with her assistant and a second assistant arrived an hour after. It took roughly 5 hours for 5 people, each with hair and makeup. Carla completed touch ups in the end and was very accommodating to perfect loose curls and eye makeup. She even helped apply some body makeup that I had brought to conceal my acne scars. Wonderful personality to work with and my updo (with hair extensions) stayed in place for over 9 hours with no frizz from dancing. She made my day!
