Love this venue!
We got married at City Winery in November 2018 and absolutely loved everything about the experience. Krysten and Katie were wonderful from the first day we went to see the space through the moment we went to pick up our frozen top of the cake (which was a full two weeks following the wedding!) There are so many great qualities to City Winery. We were looking for a place that was in Boston, would be able to accommodate a big band, had great food, and offered a unique look that fit our style. This place hit the mark on every front.
The lead up to our wedding was one of the best parts of the experience. Krysten was extremely accommodating to our schedule and extremely responsive to any questions we had. She was great about giving us the time we needed to do our rehearsal too, even though there was going to be a concert in the space the same night. Krysten did an outstanding job helping us talk through our vision for the wedding and developed a great plan that met all of our needs. She was there for us every step of the way, and had some truly great ideas during our meetings to discuss our event. Krysten and Katie were truly incredible.
The food at City Winery is amazing. As a restaurant, they do a lot of small plate items. Their event menu is more in line with what you would expect for wedding meal (salad, main, desserts…) but has awesome and delicious items to choose from. We thought we’d need to do the traditional steak/chicken/fish to keep people happy, but after trying the duck gnocchi we had to have it at our wedding. It was so good. We tried everything at our tasting (which was nothing short of amazing) and you really can’t go wrong with any of the menu options. They were also able to accommodate our request of mini cheesesteaks for our late night snack.
The venue itself was staffed very well for our event and everyone was friendly, provided great service, and made sure we had everything we needed on our big day and every room was clean. Our meal was executed without any incident and everyone loved the food. They were also great about our desire to make sure no one witnessed the flip of the space between the ceremony and reception, and pulled it off without a hitch.
If you’re considering a wedding in Boston at a unique and fun location, this place will have everything you’re looking for. Our family loved it, our friends loved it, and we couldn’t have had a better night!

I highly recommend City Winery Boston as a wedding venue. My wedding reception took place there on 6/30/2018 in the ‘Venue Space’. We had 185 guests, which was a comfortable number for the space, though it can hold up to 200. The cost of this venue was very reasonable, especially compared to other options in the Boston area. Planning my wedding at City Winery made the process way more manageable as the venue included food, alcohol, tables, chairs, linens, and other special touches such as a card box, various decorations, and personalized wine labels. They also are more than happy to accommodate DIY personal touches as we brought in most of our own flowers, candles, and desserts. Our cocktail hour took place at the bar in the ‘Main Dining Room’ and we had a smaller room dedicated to the table tent cards and guest book—all of this was generously included in our original price. We were the first wedding in the ‘Venue Space’ and despite the fact that this was unchartered ground, the staff rose to the occasion and went above and beyond expectations. Krysten Mallet, the event coordinator, worked with us throughout the planning process and truly accommodated our wishes down to the most minute detail. She was so easy to work with and honestly felt more like a friend by the end of it. She ran the show on our wedding day and we felt completely confident in her abilities. The City Winery staff—Krysten, Katie, bartenders, wait staff, sound check staff—worked seamlessly behind the scenes to create a wedding reception enjoyed by all. Oh yeah, and the food was delicious (thank you Chef Enx Dadulas)! Just some tips to other newlywed couples who may be considering City Winery: 1. The venue is easily walk-able from the North End; our ceremony was in the North End and most of our guests simply walked to City Winery for the reception. 2. Ward 8 is a great after party spot, which is just 2 blocks away. 3. The sound and lighting system at City Winery is impressive, check it out! -

June 30th will always remain an exuberant and cherished memory of a seamlessly
well-orchestrated wedding for our third daughter. We can’t brag enough about City
Winery’s sincere efforts to carefully unfold for us an inviting atmosphere. All our 200
guests fully celebrated at this festive occasion. From start to finish, Krysten, a confident
event director, listened attentively to the bride and groom to capture just what they had
in mind. She offered sensible recommendations and constant professional reassurance of
the wishes that she could accommodate. She was flexible in incorporating new ideas and
she had the fruition to put the ideas into action. She understood the meaning of a budget
since her quote was spot on. She was available for questions and set up times to meet
with you in person whenever necessary.
On the wedding day, Krysten provided a sound sense of management in coordinating
other vendors beforehand to make the day a smashing success. She was easy to work
with, offered invaluable tips and worked endlessly throughout the entire wedding
event. She was able to find solutions to unexpected requests.
The City Winery Chef deserves a standing ovation. Coming from a family of cooks, we
were all pleasantly surprised of the excellence of the food. The eye-catching food
presentation encouraged everyone to dig in. Appetites were satiated with the
outstanding hors d'oeuvre, the tender main entrees and the well-seasoned salads and
vegetables. We received so many compliments which we would like to pass along to the
chef.
The City Winery staff couldn’t have been politer and more attentive to the needs of
those who surrounded them. We thoroughly enjoyed working
with everyone. Thanks for all your hard work and dependability. We would whole
heartedly recommend the City Winey as a unique hassle-free wedding venue in the heart of Boston.-

I cannot say enough good things about the City Winery in Boston! It was the best choice my husband and I have ever made! We booked our intimate wedding before the venue was finished, and although it seemed a little risky, Krysten made us feel at ease and her and the team there completely exceeded all our expectations. I know we were the first wedding at this venue and they certainly did not disappoint us. We had both our ceremony and dinner in the tasting room and we were able to get married with the the wine barrels in the back. The price was very reasonable and the per person price included both dinner and drinks, but the best part about the City Winery was the staff! They were more than accommodating for us, even allowing us to pick things off the dinner menu that were not on the functions menu. Krysten, Katie, Adrian, and the entire wait and bar staff are all super friendly and professional. They really made us feel like we were more than just clients. They made arrangements for us to take photos throughout the venue without having any interruptions, even keeping the concert hall closed when an event was coming in that night so that we could take pictures on the stage in private. I would recommend the city winery to everyone, and cannot find one negative thing to say about the venue or the staff! Thank you for making our wedding everything we could have hoped for and more. -

Lack of responsiveness
My fiance and I were looking to book our wedding with the City Winery. We scheduled an appointment with someone named Becky to see the venue and discuss pricing. On the day of the appointment when we arrived, Beck forgot about our appointment but still managed to make time for us (which we were very appreciative of!). She was very professional and quoted us a price within our budget and told us that she would e-mail us an updated quote based on our discussion. After a month or two, we never got an updated quote but we were exploring other venues so we didn't mind. After seeing other venues we decided we wanted to move forward with having our wedding at the City Winery so we reached out to Becky again by phone. When my fiance spoke with her, she forgot about the details of our conversation but said she had our updated quote and "forgot to send it". When we received her updated quote, it did not have any of the details we discussed and was twice the amount - well over our budget. We reached out to Becky twice in an attempt to clarify or rectify the misunderstanding (we assumed she might have sent us the wrong couple's quote) but she never responded. We were never able to hear back from her and felt that she no longer was interested in working with us. Very disappointing and surprised by this the Winery's lack of response.City Winery's reply:
Hi Natalie,
We're so sorry to hear of your less than great experience working with Becky. We take a lot of pride in providing excellent customer service and we missed the mark. We hope you'll visit us again and experience everything we have to offer -- great food, excellent music, and incredible wines.
