    Beautiful location, great food, wonderful service!

    We had our wedding reception in the Terrace Room at Cliff House, and it was the most perfect thing. We chose it originally because of the excellent views, intimate location, and elegant vibe. But after meeting Virginia and talking with her, we chose it because we knew we were going to receive incredible service both during the planning phase and on our big day. We cannot thank Virginia and her team (Lauraine, Halimah, etc.) enough for helping us turn our vision into reality! They worked well with our hired wedding planner and other vendors, and really took a lot off of our plate. They allowed my husband and I to really enjoy ourselves and absorb all of the little moments that played out throughout the evening. And the food, let me just tell you...delicious. All of the food -- from appetizers to main course to dessert -- was SO SO good!! While we won’t be throwing another wedding here, rest assured that we will ALWAYS stop in for a drink and dinner every time we visit San Francisco!! We love you guys!!!

    Terrace Room is amazing for our reception!

    Virginia and Lauraine were awesome to work with. Having the Terrace Room for our reception was amazing!

    Everyone was extremely helpful and did all that was needed to make our wedding day wonderful!!! I would recommend them to anyone.

    We LOVED having our wedding reception at the Cliff House for many reasons:

    1. Location: dramatic views, iconic SF location away from the downtown crowds, easy parking
    2. Venue: perfect size for our smaller guest list (approx. 80 people), intimate without being "cozy"
    3. Price: no venue fee, just beverage/food minimum which was easily met
    4. Convenience: no need to talk to multiple vendors since food/drinks/silverware/tables/etc are all from the Cliff House
    5. Food: delicious
    6. Virginia & Lauraine: Virginia was our contact from the very beginning and she was very responsive to questions and requests. Lauraine is the day-of coordinator (great because that's another separate vendor we didn't have to hire!) and made the whole day run smoothly. We didn't have to worry about anything and could focus on just enjoying ourselves with our guests.

    Overall, working with the Cliff House was super easy. Our reception turned out to be classy and elegant but also a ton of fun -- and we credit the staff at the Cliff House for helping make that happen.

    Virginia and Lauraine are the best catering and event directors one could ever asked for!

    We've communicated for over a year making sure my wedding in April 2016 will go smoothly and that guests will have a great time! They are very prompt in responding to my queries. They also happily gave out suggestions about food, beverages and timelines allowing our wedding to go about efficiently while everyone go have fun.

    While I looked forward to an outdoor wedding overlooking the waters, this was not made possible because it rained that day! Nonetheless, Cliff House offers a wet weather plan! Having our ceremony indoors didn't make it any less beautiful! In fact, we considered the rains as a blessing in disguise because staying indoors allowed me and my fiance (on that day) mingle with the guests before the ceremony started. We also had a lot of photos taken with the guests before the ceremony started so we had more time to have a good time afterwards.

    The food is also very good. When I started planning for this wedding, there were only two things that were non-negotiable items for me. One of those is making sure we and our guests will be treated to great food. I'm happy to say that Cliff House have delivered far beyond my expectations. Thankfully, they have a restaurant where we can also enjoy their fare any time we want.

    We chose Cliff House for our ceremony venue because of the gorgeous location. You can't get much better than the natural beauty of the ocean. I'm so glad we picked it because the staff were incredible. Virginia, Lauraine, and Nicole are fabulous!! We met with Nicole initially and we knew that we would be in good hands. She had so many ideas and was so thoughtful. The rest of our communication was done through email since we live out of the country. Every email I sent was replied to and all my questions answered very promptly. They even arranged for Irish tea to be at the reception because my husband (and his family) are Irish and I knew they would want it. They went above and beyond!!

    Lauraine ran our reception. She is amazing!! She knew exactly what was happening and when. She definitely helped us deliver the wedding reception that we wanted. All of our guests were blown away, not only by the location, but by how great all of the staff were. I can't say enough good things!!

    We had our wedding reception at Cliff House in March 2013. Masoud and Virginia did an amazing job throwing a fantastic party. Masoud was there the night of and personally made sure that each and everyone person there had a great time (without being intrusive, of course). They handled some special meal requests on the spot, had flawless staff, and facilitated a great party. We put about 95 people in the room for a plated dinner with a dance floor, which worked very well.

    We didn't have our ceremony there, but the patio was open for guests to check out the ocean and seal rocks (they have spotlights on the water!)

    The food was excellent, better than we expected for banquet food.

    Masoud and Virginia also modified the bar service to have exactly what we wanted to serve.

    A note - we had our DJ bring their own lighting and turned the room lights off. I would highly recommend this for dancing.

    It is an incredible place to get married and I’m so happy we chose to have a ceremony there. They took care of everything and made me feel at ease to enjoy my day, which allowed the magic to happen. We are ocean people and it was an amazing place full of history to have a wedding on the ocean. If you want to get married on the ocean in SF this is the only place you need to think about.

    Virginia and Massoud made it possible to make our wedding dreams come true. We planned our wedding from Chicago but the Cliff House team made it as stress free as possible.

    5 stars for Cliff House. I love Masoud and Virginia, my two favorite persons during my wedding planning stage. Very professional and very easy to talk to. Food was great. All my guests loved it. The view was magical especially the sunset. It was very windy outside though, so we admired the view from the inside. All in all we had a fabulous time!

    Absolutely unbelieveable!!! The Cliffhouse was the best place to start the rest of our lives together!! The staff treats you like Kings and Queens, the food is AMAZING! It was truly the perfect day! I recommend this place to anyone who loves great food and amazing view of the ocean!

    I just want to say our reception at the Cliff House was magical! Everything was wonderful from service, food, ambiance, sunset... can't ask for any more perfect day than August 8th! Masoud is the man! He took great care of us & executed everything flawlessly!!! All the guests had a great time & enjoyed the venue tremendously! Thanks for doing an outstanding job and making our wedding day special, beautiful, and unforgettable!!

    Beautiful location. Classic San Francisco! They were flexible with our reservation, and the food was excellent!

    Although weather in San Fran is always a factor...if you are on ocean lover- the view from the balcony of the Cliffhouse is breath-taking!!! Even though we had a foggy cool day- the backround gave our ceremony a special touch! Our guests are sill talking about it's beauty.

    The Terrace Room at The Cliff House was the ideal venue for our small wedding reception of about 50 guests. The special events team (Virginia, Lauraine, and Nicole were the ones we worked with) is responsive, experienced, and flexible. Since we had a pretty simple set-up as far as weddings go...no cake, no dance floor, no big decorations...the comfort of the Terrace Room and the private terrace outside were real highlights for our guests (we were fortunate for a fogless afternoon/evening and thus were able to experience a gorgeous sunset). Despite the simplicity of our event, Nicole, our on-site manager the day of, was thorough and on-point as if it was a 100+ person event. She was helpful in managing communications with the chef, bar, servers, and even managed the sound levels of the music for us since we didn't have a DJ. Our reception was perfect and it couldn't have happened without the help of The Cliff House staff. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for an intimate, exclusive space with a classic feel and amazing backdrop for your photos.

    We were here for a wedding reception. Food and service were okay, but while we were inside our rental car was broken into and all our valuables were taken. While I don't hold the restaurant responsible for the break in, the staff simply shrugged their shoulders and said "It happens every night." Our car was not the only one broken into that night and the remnants of broken glass all over the pavement made it obvious that this happens often.

    While contacting the police and cleaning up the broken glass (no assistance offered from the restaurant staff), the manager told us we'd have to leave because he had a clean up crew coming in.

    Have they ever considered hiring a security detail...or at least advising the wedding couple to hire one?

    So, if you are in San Francisco and you want to have your car broken into and all your valuables stolen, this is a good bet. Sadly, this will be the memory we will always have of San Francisco.
