We worked with Lucy Warner for our rehearsal dinner and she did a phenomenal job. She was very responsive and professional. We told her we wanted a BBQ style dinner she sent us some menu recommendations but let us make some changes so we could have exactly what we were looking for. The food was great and Lucy was there that night to ensure everything went smoothly, which it did thanks to her!

We can not speak more highly of the Hyatt Fair Lakes in Fairfax. From their unbelievable flexibility in accommodating our needs (specific food requirements, large party, blended ceremony, etc.) to the impeccable attention to all of the little details, they played a huge part in making our day perfect. Ti, our event coordinator, worked with us from the day I emailed her about the venue to the big day. By the actual wedding day, I considered her more of a friend than a coordinator. I have to say, thanks to the staff at the Hyatt, my wedding day was completely stress-free.

The Hyatt did an excellent job. Everything was absolutely perfect. I worked with a wonderful lady named Ti Beri who was very on top of EVERYTHING and made the day perfect. She answered all of my emails promptly. Food was delicious. Ceremony on courtyard patio was gorgeous. I looked at a lot of different places in the DC area and you definitely get the most value here. Very reasonably priced and was a very "classy" wedding with excellent service. I would recommend this venue to anyone! I had many guests say that it was the best wedding they had ever attended.

Ti was my catering manager and was awesome. She took all the stress away and really helped out with everything. She was amazing and I can't rave enough about her. The Hyatt exceeded all my expectation except for one thing: the room block. My husband and I are not from here and we have large families. We we were only allowed to initialy block 19 rooms (we ended up having 40 rooms total). Once the block sold out, people would call and they were told the hotel was sold out. It caused a bit of chaos but ended up working out in the end. Overall, I was very happy with how we were treated and the responsivness of the entire staff.

The Hyatt Fairfax did a wonderful job! There were so many employees looking out for us the night of our wedding. Gabrielle was our catering manager and she was fantastic! We originally started off with a different catering manager who did not match our personalities so we asked for someone different. The manager was quick to change our catering manager to someone else. The venue is beautiful. The lobby is newly renovated with plenty of seating for guests to sit during cocktail hour. This was one thing that sold us. We had our ceremony outside in the courtyard and it was the perfect amount of space and beautiful. Part of our wedding package was a free night's stay on our first anniversary. We just had our stay and it was so nice and relaxing. We highly recommend this venue. The pricing was good compared with country clubs and many other hotels in the area and having the ceremony and reception in one location was easy for everyone.

I can't say enough about Toya and the Hyatt!! I really can't!

My fiance and I looked at a lot of places before deciding on the Hyatt. My main reason for the Hyatt was that I wanted to have an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception at the same location. What really sealed the deal, however, was Toya. I wanted everything to be perfect and I strongly felt that on my wedding day, Toya would have everything under control so I wouldn't have to worry about a thing...and she did NOT disappoint me!!

I had a few guests compliment me on how Toya was on top of everything and how she really made sure everything ran smoothly. If she had the power to stop the rain on my wedding day, I know for a fact that she would've done that as well! Thank you, thank you, thank you Toya!!!!

I have to say a quick word about the banquet staff - they were fantastic as well! They were constantly asking my fiance and I if we needed anything, if they could get us anything...just a wonderful, wonderful staff at the Hyatt!!

FYI, we did not have our ceremony at the Hyatt and had it at a church instead.

We worked with Toya Johnson, who is a Catering Manager at the Hyatt Fair Lakes. She took care of EVERYTHING for us. I wonder when the woman sleeps! She was amazing throughout the planning process up until the evening of the reception. I highly recommend the Hyatt Fair Lakes for future brides.

They were really good. I emailed the lady who helped with our reception about a million times, and she always responded very quickly and she was a huge help. They just did everything, which was fantastic! The food was great, the price was great, and the space was perfect for the number of people we had.

The Hyatt Fair Lakes is an elegant and relaxed place to have your reception. We loved how spacious and open the place felt.
They also had great incentives with their package (a free cake from Wanda's Cakes and a complimentary night in one of their suites) so you will definitely get a lot for what you pay for.

Toya Johnson was awesome at helping us with our tasting, planning our reception and the coordinating the transition from our ceremony (at another location) to the reception. She was also there on site during the event to make sure everything was running smoothly (and it did!) The food was also DELICIOUS- we wanted to make sure that our guest loved the food and they did.

    Excellent customer service!

We had a great experience with the Hyatt. They were really flexible in accommadating my family from out of town. The event Coordinator was really great, she made everything go off without a hitch. The bride & groom get a free panoramic suite the night of the wedding and a free stay on their one year anniversary. The food was delicious, we even had a sushi bar!

Excellent! Could not have been nicer/better. The food was Delicious! When I wanted to change one of the meats; no problem at all; they went to the kitchen and prepared something different. They aim to please! Try them, we highly recommend them and all of our guests do also. Laurie Brewer; Convention Services Manager, talk to her, she's the best!

The Hyatt did not disappoint! We had the best experience and glad we decided on this venue to get married at. With recent renovations done to the lobby area, lounge and bar, the decor is very chic and fun.

We had a wonderful catering manager by the name of Ti Beri, who was amazing. She was on top of everything and made sure the details, no matter how big or small was how I wanted them to be, she made sure that our day went as perfect as it could and how I had envisioned. She promptly answered all of my emails the same day, if not within 24 hours. Any concerns I had, whether major or minor, she reassured me everything was going to be ok. She a pleasure to work with and I will miss that. She also took care of contacting all of our vendors and coordinating their arrival times to ensure being on schedule and everything ran smoothly.

The wedding package at the hotel took care of EVERYTHING; food - cocktail hour, duet plate, drinks - champagne toasts, and open bar, a cake from Amphora Bakery, setup, etc. She was even able to throw in two extra complimentary rooms for our daughter and our parents on the wedding night. Our ceremony was held on their courtyard patio, which was gorgeous; reception was in their Commonwealth Ballroom - Ti and her staff did an excellent job setting up and making sure all the decor was where it should be - also turned out beautifully done. The Hyatt was very reasonably priced and we were able to throw a very "CLASSY" wedding with excellent service without breaking our bank.

We would highly recommend this venue to anyone for any event you are planning.

I loved my wedding at the Hyatt! We had a few hiccups along the way such as the wedding coordinator changed (not a big deal), some guests had problems reserving rooms, and they were renovating during my wedding so the water was turned off Monday - Friday from 9am-5pm for all my out of town guests. We made everything work out without any big problems.

All of my emails were answered (some took a little longer than planned, but nothing horrible) and all the wedding plans went smoothly! They even set up my centerpieces as I wanted with no added charge. The food was amazing and the staff were helpful and friendly! I had a wonderful time and my dream wedding came true!

The Hyatt was very accomodating. It was difficult for us to determine the number of guests at the dinner because of family coming in from out of town. The wait staff was most accomodating, friendly, and courteous. We arrived earlier than planned and the staff went out of their way to be cordial and start the dinner earlier. Our room had opened to an outdoor patio, this made the evening more enjoyable with cocktails outside and then the dinner inside.

We worked with Mary at the Hyatt and she made sure that all of our needs were taken care of. We were able to book a package that included the ceremony room, a cocktail hour on a very nice patio, and a very nice reception banquet room. Since the Hyatt took care of the bar, food, room accommodations and location, we were able to sit back and not have to worry about coordinating even more vendors. They worked with our external vendors and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was excellent, the banquet servers were extremely professional, and they made sure that everyone had a great time and had everything they needed. While we looked at several hotels and other locations for our ceremony and reception, we felt the Hyatt was a nice, intimate fit without being excessively ornate or overdone.

We had an excellent wedding reception at the Hyatt Fairfax. They were able to accommodate all of our needs and special requests. The ballroom looked exactly like we wanted it. Lucy, the catering manager, did a great job working with us up until the big day making sure all plans were in place. Andrew, the banquet manager was great the day of the event making sure we had everything we needed and everyone was being taken care of to the highest standard of service. We got lots of compliments on the food as well. The reception packages were all inclusive and a great price in comparison to similar venues. The only issues any of my guests had were on the hotel end of things. There were a couple issues with reservations and the housekeeping of several rooms.

I had the best experience at this hotel, because they did an amazing job for us.

The hotel was recently renovated and the lobby area is all done and it looks very chic and fun. It looks very hip and is a fun laid-back place to hang out. They might be renovating some other areas, but I honestly could not tell.

I had a wedding for 130 people. They provided a free hotel room for the two of us on the wedding night, we got Hyatt points for the money we spent at the hotel, and we got two free nights at any Hyatt hotel. The wedding package at the hotel took care of everything (food, drinks, service to put all the table centerpieces etc. out, and even the cake from Amphora). Although this may sound like it's very cookie cutter, which was my initial concern, it actually turned out to be a great idea. The catering manager was there to help answer all our wedding planning questions, and since the package took care of so many details, we were able to take more time to make the wedding unique.

We had a Chinese / American wedding. We were able to work it out with them so the chef roasted 3 whole pigs for us. The chef is Filipino, so he made amazing crispy-on-the-outside and tender-on-the-inside Lechon pork. We were able to have a lion dance and other things that really made our wedding feel unique.

The staff was super attentive during the planning and during the wedding. The catering manager answered all of my e-mails almost immediately within 24 hours. She helped recommend my florist, who I also loved and was reasonably priced. During the wedding, the staff made sure we had food and didn't skip our dinner. They even gave us the left over pig from our wedding to take home!!!

They really went above and beyond! So I would highly recommend them for any event that you're planning.

Given the stellar review I gave, I did hear some of my guests mention that they were not treated as well as I was. For example, some guests moved chairs, so others did not have chairs. The guests without chairs were told to find another chair on their own. When they found a seat at another table, they also did not get slices of cake or champaign for toasts.

The Hyatt ended up being perfect for my wedding reception, although in the planning stages communication was sometimes difficult. Our event coordinator left in the middle of the planning process, which further complicated things. However, when the big day came everything came out perfectly-- even the frantic last minute changes I was calling about the day before. The staff was great, the room looked beautiful, the food was good. I would recommend the Hyatt, just be clear of what you want and when you want it!

We loved everything about our wedding at the Hyatt except our service at the front desk and booking rooms.

The wedding reception went off without a hitch. They were very accommodating and responsive. Everything flowed with easy and I didn't have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding. It was awesome.

The front desk didn't go as well. We had a hard time getting our room reservations and breakfast meals booked accuratly. My father was very frustrated with the front desk trying to ensure all of our out of town guests were taken care of because the front desk made so many mistakes. They even forgot to book my now husband and I a room. We go that fixed. :-)

Negatives: Our new last name was spelled wrong on the signs (which thankfully got changed before all of the guests arrived). The brunch was just a mess- do not do brunch at the hyatt. Brunch was not scheduled properly and the hotel sort of blamed it on me rather than just realizing their mistake and fixing it. The brunch was not worth the value. Another thing, was that after working with Gabrielle for nine months she wrote us a thank you note over email adressing us as Mr. and Mrs. (my maiden name). Not a big deal, but atleast get the new name right! The actual reception involved many guests complaining that the non-english speaking waiters took their drinks, food, and cake before guests finishing. If someone went up to dance, their drink was gone when they got back. Lastly, I wanted to extend the wedding reception but the wedding coordinator had left early and we could not communicate with helpers. Other vendors said that the wedding coordinator was not the easiest to work with on the actual night of reception.

Positives: The wedding was set up exactly how I want and all of those negatives were after the fact. They really did a good job of being flexible with us and setting things up exactly how I had asked. I liked that the coordinator contacted all of my vendors to triple check that everything would fall into place. The actual wedding was fantastic, food tasted great, and guests were happy with venue. The negatives do not outweigh the positives, I would just require the coordinator to be there for the entire event.

I would have given them higher scores if I hadn't, over the course of 11 months, dealt with 4 different employees in regards to our wedding. The woman who we initially dealt with was even part of our decision to go with them and about 4 months in she was fired. That being said everything did go smoothly and they did A LOT regarding the setup of the room for the reception. The food was excellent and we had our ceremony outside on their patio and it was beautiful. I believe we did end up getting a lot for our money, even if we didn't see any leftover cake, etc....

The wedding venue is beautiful and most of the staff was great to work with. The staff upgraded us to the presidental suite for our wedding night, which was awesome. They also did a great job with working our block group rate. However, make sure to make sure the bar details are in order the day before the wedding. Ours somehow changed between our first couple of discussions and the day before the wedding. Also, have someone keep tabs on the bartenders, they like to make the drinks really weak. The staff was very helpful and the waitstaff were awesome. Someone broke a glass on the dance floor and they were there within seconds and cleaned it up. The planners were also very helpful and accommodating to try to help us come up with alternatives to keep our contracted amount since we had fewer guests than expected. Overall, the experience was great, expect for the bar.
