    My Daughter and I chose the Hyatt Regency for her wedding and ceremony and couldn't be more delighted. We worked with Marisela, who made us feel like special guests from the first visit. She ensured every detail was taken care of and even helped handle off-site parking. The food was fabulous and impressively presented, the hotel Sun Garden was a gorgeous spot for a ceremony. Compared to other venues much more service, atmosphere and value.

    Where can I even start with my experience at the Hyatt - they far exceeded our expectations! We originally didn't have this venue on our list to look at but thank goodness we ended up adding them last minute. After we met with the wedding coordinator, we were sold!

    The staff truly treats you like a VIP celebrity the weekend of the wedding. The valet, front desk, everyone was pointing me out saying "this is the bride - do whatever she wants". Many of our family members asked if they were placed at a "special table" because their server was so personable and accommodating. We had many food restrictions and allergies and everyone was more than pleased with their options. The manager even ended up driving my aunt and uncle to the airport the day after the wedding!!

    Marisela, the wedding coordinator, brought so much expertise to every decision and responded to emails promptly which helped keep me organized. She completely understood my vision and added decorations of her own that fit in and made the room look amazing. She helped me out with every question or concern. She truly thought of everything - champagne in our hotel room, snacks in our parents rooms between the ceremony and reception, allowing important guests to check in early the day before the wedding... everything! Her recommendations on food, appetizers, late night food, etc did not disappoint.

    I got more compliments than I could have ever imagined. Even my hard to please in laws said this was the classiest venue they've ever been to! We could not be happier!

    Julie, who assisted in planning our wedding was fabulous! I can't even imagine what we would have done without her. She made every detail of our day come alive, she surprised me with incredible ideas and an endless supply of patience for me and my ever changing mind. Food was incredible, rooms were beautiful, and everyone in the hotel was immensely helpful and kind on the weekend of our dreams!!

    We had a very large reception here. The reception turned out perfect and was everything we wanted! Julie, the events manager, and Lynn, the room coordinator, were so organized, nice, honest, quick to respond to emails and calls and so helpful. We wish we could do our reception all over again, we had so much fun! The food was amazing, and exceeded our expectations. Guests were impressed and enjoyed the hotel rooms too!

    We booked a wedding with Jocelyn kowalczyk. She was incredible. Out of all the places we visited in buffalo, this was our favorite!

    We chose the Hyatt for our guest room blocks. We had a few hiccups on the technical end in the beginning but, I could not have asked for better customer service. From Jimmy the Bellman to Gary the Valet and all of the front desk staff we were welcomed and made to feel comfortable. Our guests were very pleased.

    I just recently had my wedding at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo and I couldn't be more satisfied. Working with them was so great, I never worried for a minute while planning the wedding, they took care of everything. On the actual wedding day everything was beautiful and organized. I received several compliments from my guests on how wonderful the service was from valet, to the rooms to the bartenders. I am so happy I chose this venue for my wedding, thanks so much for a fabulous night I will never forget!

    We ended up having our reception here because of their in house wedding planner, Lauren. The whole experience was very easy because they communicate so well with you during the planning process, and really know what they are doing. We had an amazing reception and would not have changed a thing. Thank you!!

    Excellent service. All my guests told me it was the best reception food they had ever eaten. More then accomedating for me and all my guests. Excellent contact with head of the banquet facilities. If I had to do it all again I would choose the Hyatt

    THE STAFF AT THE HYATT WAS BEYOND ACCOMODATING. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING YOU WANT FOR YOUR EVENT. AMAZING FOOD, HOTEL ROOMS IN BLOCKS OF ROOMS, DECOR/RENTAL, CAKE, PLANNING. THEY ARE SO FLEXIBLE AND I FELT LIKE THEY REALLY CARED ABOUT ME!

    June 2019 Hyatt Wedding

    We just came home from our daughter’s wonderful wedding weekend at the Hyatt! Everything was perfect from start to finish! Amy, our wedding coordinator was responsive and accommodating from our initial meeting! The waitstaff were professional and courteous! They helped make it a perfect day!

    Very pleased with our choice to go with the Hyatt. They were very flexible and accommodating and the food was superb! Our bridal suite was enormous and beautiful, fit for a queen! Would do it again for sure.

    We had simple demands for our wedding reception. We wanted it to be easy, fun, and we wanted good food. We looked up one of our nicer local hotels in hopes of finding a venue that covered as many of our needs as possible in once simple package. We got exactly what we were looking for at the Hyatt Regency.

    Their wedding packages include everything you need with no "nickel and diming" for all the little details. We found their options to be flexible enough to accommodate whatever you need while being simple enough to make things very easy on you. They cover the food, venue, linens, table decorations... all the little things that we didn't want to bother with (but if those matter to you, you'll still get everything you want).

    Their food was just waaaaaay too good. We had a served meal letting guests choose from four options, and there was no "regret" option. Everyone loved their meal, and guests were raving about how good it was all night, once they all recovered from eating way too much.

    The staff really knocked my socks off, too. The coordinators that you work with up front are knowledgeable and helpful, and all around pleasant to work with. The wait staff truely had everyone impressed. Rarely have I gotten such good service at even the nicest restaurants I've eaten at, and many of our tables boasted of befriending their waiters.

    The Hyatt in Rochester made our wedding wonderful and unforgettable, and they'll undoubtedly do the same for yours.

    Had my wedding at the Hyatt on 7-13-13. It was great ---- all the food was amazing and the staff was extremely helpful and kind. I had a great time and my guests did too!!

    Pros:
    1. The day of the wedding was really crazy and the Hyatt staff helped out. Captain Morgan was really great and so was the rest of the banquet staff. The wedding coordinator, Courtney, was super helpful and made sure that everything was going according to plan.
    2. Food an drinks were great.
    3. Can hold a lot of guests.
    4. If you have a lot of out-of-towners, this place is very convenient.

    Cons:
    1. It was a bit difficult to work with the Hyatt as they had some major staff changes and our wedding was a bit difficult to coordinate.
    2. Blocking rooms was a nightmare. If you do block rooms, as soon as you sign your contract, BLOCK ROOMS. We didn't have enough for our guests.
    3. The outside of the hotel is a little bit not on the nice side...I wish the City would invest more and clean up that area.

    Overall, the Hyatt is a fantastic venue. I would do it again in a heartbeat. The staff was very professional, and with 2/3 of our wedding coming from out of town it was the BEST way to be sure everyone had the best time while being practical. Their response compared to other hotel venues we looked at was second to none, and they really make sure you get what you want. What I will say to their fault, I was also planning our wedding remotely, so sometimes configuring times to meet when I could be in town was difficult. Also, I had a fairly long engagement (1.5 years) & there were two staff changes in between that I wasn't informed about. So i was continuing to contact the wrong person with my questions without even knowing it and not getting responses. Their room blocks were difficult to understand, and unless you're ready to do your homework, they do leave a lot for interpretation. Finally, they did a fantastic job of setting up the day of. However, if you're OCD and want to make sure that things are laid out exactly as you want, they don't have someone that you can relay that information to. Marisela does a great job doing what you ask, but as far as a "day of planner", I did not feel I could be particular as I don't think she was in charge of that. Overall, very few of my guests had minor complaints, but everything was worked out. I'm being picky for the sake of writing a review, but the staff made sure to help as much as possible and I HIGHLY recommend the Hyatt for your venue.

    While there were a couple of wonderful employees at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo, our entire experience working with them to plan a block of rooms for our wedding was extremely frustrating. From the beginning, when setting aside the block, I would receive confirmation that our block was ready and guests could begin calling, only to hear from guest after guest that they were unable to make the reservations. When I called to complain and request more rooms be added to our block, I was told that a "significant number" was added, only to find out later that 5 rooms were added. In addition, when my guests began arriving for the wedding, some of the staff at the check-in desk were impolite and not helpful. Guests who had confirmed rooms were told they did not have rooms on the day of the wedding. This resulted in some of my guests going home that night. In addition, guests were not able to check in on time and a couple missed the wedding ceremony due to this. The elevators continued to break down and on the Sunday after the wedding, the entire hotel was using the steps to get up and down the stairs (This is a hotel with over 20 floors). When I requested a late check-out for Sunday, I was told no and the man at the service counter was very unpleasant. I would think that after bringing 40+ rooms to the hotel that night, a late check-out is not too much to ask for. We were not the only people who had problems this night, another wedding block had guests that were unable to check in and mostly everyone in the hotel was dissatisfied with the hotel this weekend.

    My husband and I thought blocking rooms at the Hyatt would be the easiest part planning our wedding, it was far from it. As far as initially contacting the customer service everything was fine and the reps were pleasant. However, everything seemed to spiral out of control a month before our wedding down to the day/ night of our wedding. From giving incorrect information in regards to our deadline to completely turning down guests trying to book a month before our wedding. They consistently threatened to charge our credit card if we didn't have all of our rooms book- which is understandable to a point however do not turn down my guests when they are trying to book a room. The night of the wedding my mothers room was left open with all of our cards in her room after the cleaning lady had been through. Also, my brother in law was completely shut down and treated poorly trying when he was trying to get into the actual hotel after my wedding being told " if you don't like it go find another hotel". They are far from reliable, when there is a conflict the customer service almost talks down to you as if you have no idea what you are talking about. Due to this my husband and I ended up staying at another hotel the night of our wedding which was clearly the best choice considering everything that happened. I do not recommend blocking rooms for a wedding or even staying there.
