    Wedding perfection

Cannot say enough good things about Lustre! We used them to tailor my bridal jumpsuit and rent my husband’s tux and our wedding dresses son’s suit for our wedding. Tony went above and beyond - including staying open late and having their tailor come during off hours - to accommodate our schedule and have everything perfect for our big day.

    Small Shop with Great Service

Lustre Formal Wear was a great place to rent tuxes for our wedding. Bryan was very helpful and patient when we wanted to come in multiple times to see what options he had. When a new tux came in that was similar to what we were looking for, he called us to come in and take a look. We loved it and it was the perfect compliment to the ties we’d already purchased.

Bryan was also great with helping our out-of-town groomsmen, father of the bride and ring bearer get the right fit, including ordering a new jacket size for the FOB two days before the wedding.

We would strongly recommend his services on Capitol Hill for any event in the DMV.

    Unprofessional

Never let your bad day reflect on your customer service. I first went to this location when it was under different ownership. I must say it was A1 service. The entire wedding party had an amazing time at a fitting. That’s a lot said. Today was my first time back since the new owner took over. I was helped by a gentleman who was very polite and attentive. Yet there were a few things he couldn’t answer and differed to a woman who I assumed was the owner. My tux jacket was tight and very restraining. The gentleman asked her to come and take a look at it and she said she didn’t have time to do that. He asked her can we get him a new jacket that fits. She said “I guess we still have 15 minutes if we can get the order in. But I don’t see anything wrong with it. It looks good.” (While not even looking in my direction from across the store) I stated I can hardly move in this jacket. I would like to order the one that fits. The gentleman went on to try to provide me with another option that they had in the store. Which did fit but looked slightly different from the other tux that were in our party. The gentleman then asked what she thought and she stated “If they wanted him to have that suit they would have ordered that suit.” Which in turn made absolutely no sense to me because I didn’t want a new suit jacket, just the correct suit jacket to properly fit. Which she would of understood if she would of took just a moment of her precious time to satisfy a customer. As I continued to wait for her to give me some type of sign she was putting in my order for the correct jacket, she never did and didn’t even look my direction. I then went back into the dressing room and changed my clothes. I handed her my tux and she turned to me and said “do you love it”. Which had to be a joke because I just told her it didn’t fit. I simply replied no but I’m in the wedding and I need a tux. She then said but it looks good. Which then made me realize I was talking to someone who doesn’t understand the purpose of her job. She then turned to the other customer in the store and said “thanks for being such good customers. Patient and understanding, I’ve had such a ruff day and you guys are just the best”. She then went on to talk about how much she could use a drink and spew some other BS out of her mouth. Throwing sneaky insults like a person with absolutely no class. I then went on to pay because clearly that was my only option at this point and as she hands me my suit she says “Im sorry you don’t love it”. I had to pray because God knows I didn’t want to give that terrible woman my business. Never again! I hate to tear down black ownership but lord knows she shouldn’t be no stores owner or manager or employee because she doesn’t know how to conduct herself in a business!
