  Perfection!

  We worked with Paula for an engagement shoot in NYC, and it was a truly fantastic experience! From our coordinating call, to the actual shoot, to masterful variety of photos she took - absolute perfection every step of the way! Paula make us, a camera shy awkward couple, look like models so comfortable in front of the camera. We are so thrilled to have worked with her to capture such a special time in our lives. Thank you Paula, we can't wait to hang these photos around our home for years to come!

  Natural Candid Beauty

  Paula came highly recommended by my sister’s wedding photographer, and when I saw her website I knew she was what I was looking for. Beautiful candid shots, catching sweet little moments between the bride and groom. Artistic ways of capturing movement and interacting with nature. I had no idea exactly how wonderful she would be, not knowing the pandemic was coming when I booked her in Dec 2019.
  When we decided to downsize our wedding from 200 to 20, she was so encouraging and helped me conceptualize the events of the day. She stayed in touch. Being a COVID bride never felt hard because of her, and I was so excited leading up to our intimate little wedding.
  On the big day, she has a natural way of fitting right in. The joy captured in my photos reflect exactly how comfortable we felt with her there, a bunch of people who aren’t used to being photographed. We would absolutely love to work with her again someday as our family grows.

  Incredible photographer!!

  Paula did an amazing job capturing our wedding day. The photographs were mind blowing and incredibly beautiful. We couldn't believe all the small moments she captured at our intimate winter wedding. It was so fun seeing behind the scenes of our own wedding.
  
  She did a great job making my husband and I feel relaxed for bride and groom portraits and organizing and navigating family portraits. One of the reasons we picked her to photograph our wedding (besides her gorgeous photos) is her chill, laid-back vibe. She is friendly and kind, without being overbearing. She took a bunch of creative photos that are really unique and artistic too. We can't recommend her enough! We're so happy we hired Paula as our wedding photographer and highly recommend you do the same!

  Hiring Paula and Nik for your wedding is the best decision you can make!!

  My husband and I can't say enough good things about Paula and Nik. We selected them for our wedding because they photographed a friend of ours and we had so much fun with them at that wedding, not to mention the photos were amazing. Having them for our own engagement and wedding planning experience was the best decision we made and worth every penny we spent! Paula is extremely responsive and fun to work with. She makes you feel SO COMFORTABLE. Her and Nik have fun, adventurous spirits that made our engagement and wedding photos so playful and fun. We can't thank them enough for capturing such a wonderful day so perfectly :)

  Perfect for my backyard wedding!

  Paula did our engagement and wedding photography and she is simply incredible. I love the look of her work, and she's an incredibly fun person who was able to bring out the best in us. We had nothing but compliments from our guests about how great she and her husband Nik were to work with. Such wonderful photographers with such talent, and easy to work with! Plus, although I know she has an incredibly busy schedule right now with weekends full of fall weddings, she went out of her way to send us a few preview pics to tide us over! Above and beyond.

  The Best Photographer Ever!

  There are not enough words to describe how awesome and talented Paula is! She was so friendly and responsive with all our questions as we were deciding which photographer to go with and her pricing and packaging options were very clear and helpful on her website.
  
  We did an engagement shoot with Paula about a month before our wedding and it totally put all my wedding anxieties at ease! Even if everything went wrong at the wedding I knew I was still going to have amazing photos of my husband and myself. Paula was great with suggesting places for us to do the shoot (because I totally had wedding brain and could not make another decision) and once we got there she was so amazing with making us feel relaxed and not feel awkwardly dorky in front of the camera. She even got the pictures back to us within a week so that we could have time to print them before our wedding.
  
  For the wedding she and her husband Nik were so amazing at putting everyone at ease, getting all the shots we wanted, and all the ones we didn't know we needed. They were right there when you needed them and many of our guests commented how wonderful they were.
  
  All of our photos were amazing- I can't believe how good they look and that it's actually me in them! She truly captured the garden/vintage fairy feel of our wedding and there were so many more photos than I anticipated!
  
  I know how overwhelming finding a photographer can be and what a significant investment it can be, but Paula is definitely worth every penny. She clearly loves what she does and it shows in her photos and and in her personality.

  No one better

  For us, there was no other choice for our engagement and wedding photos other than Paula and Nik. They have done most of our friends weddings, and lots of other events as well. Paula is creative, passionate, easy to work with and a joy to have at your wedding. She does a fantastic job walking you through the process leading up the wedding, and her eye and talent for capturing just the right moment is unmatched. I couldn't be happier with our wedding photos and stare at them all the time! Is it weird to print them all out and plaster them all over my house? Just kidding. Maybe.

  I stopped looking for a photographer the minute I came across Paula's website. Her style was exactly what I was looking for at an incredible price (she really should start charging more, actually). Her correspondence with me was timely and professional, yet extremely easy-going and flexible. We met her first for our engagement session, which she drove an hour for and stayed until 1030pm because I wanted studio portraits in addition to our downtown Alexandria shoot. She rented all the equipment and set everything up at no additional charge. Incredible. What was more incredible is that she spent the first 30 minutes just getting to know us. Paula has an amazing gift of seeming like an old friend from the minute you meet her. My now husband and I spent the entire car ride home talking about how relieved we were that she was so kind,energetic, and easy going. We were so excited about having her at the wedding. A week before our actual ceremony we met Paula and her second-shooter, and husband, Nic at our venues to do a walkthrough so that she could familiarize herself and take some test shots. I thought that was extremely forward-thinking of her.
  On the day of our wedding, Paula was early and did some artsy shots of my dress, invitations, jewelry, etc. Afterward she just sort of blended in with the bridal party. I was able to be completely in the moment of my wedding because I knew I had nothing to worry about with Paula. My husband said the same of Nic, who ended up being just one of the guys during the pre-ceremony photography. Paula was organized, focused, gave clear directions, and at the same time was so warm and flexible. She has absolutely no ego as a photographer, so when my bossy family was yelling her name all night to get shots of things they wanted she did so with her warm smile and indulged their whims, while amazingly never missing a moment. She even set up a photobooth at an amazingly low cost! The pictures were amazing, and so is she.

  Paula had shot my husband's brother's wedding about a year and a half before ours. We loved the photos from their wedding and were sure that we would love ours as well.
  
  We could not be happier with the job Paula did. She was very accommodating and flexible when it came to our engagement shoot. We had complicated work schedules and we had to reschedule many times due to bad weather.
  
  For our wedding, the venue was very disorganized and everything ran way off schedule, but Paula stayed late, free of charge, so that we wouldn't miss any big moments.
  
  She is the best!

  Paula has accidentally become our family's official photographer. She did my sister's engagement shoot and wedding, my engagement shoot and wedding, as well as an anniversary shoot for my parents. She is wonderful. She is friendly, responsive, warm, flexible, and and a great photographer. On my wedding day, she and her second photographer even helped me get my makeup right while we were still getting ready! My parents and my husband's parents all loved her, along with the bridesmaids. Even several of the wedding guests mentioned how great she was. We took a huge group shot in front of our venue so we could capture everyone who was there that day, and even though it was a giant pain in the ass to organize, Paula did it calmly and quickly, got the shot, and sent everyone off to cocktail hour.
  
  On top of being seriously the most wonderful, this girl is CHEAP. Ladies, book her before her rates go up, because she can definitely justify a jump in price!

  I have only the MOST AMAZING things to say about working with Paula on our wedding this July! She was one of two shooters in our package, and she was so, so great to have at the wedding. Obviously, most about-to-be-married folks prioritize photography, and Paula helped make us so glad we did. We can pick out her shots in our wedding album and smile at the way the capture the verve and excitement of our reception, alongside the more traditional, intimate images of the bridal party.
  
  Even beyond the quality of her images, though, I want to take a little extra time to talk about how much I appreciated Paula's very warm, but still unobtrusive presence on The Big Day. I felt like my husband (!!!) and I got to share so many special little moments, all the while being captured by Paula at a discreet distance--the best of both worlds in terms of not posing us, but still making sure to get the best shot! Not to say she was at all distant in personality: on the contrary, she was out on the dance floor all evening, smiling and getting HILARIOUS and wonderful shots of our relatives partying. She must have made them feel VERY comfortable, since they were striking some pretty incredible poses...
  
  And, most impressively, Paula truly, truly went above and beyond with flexibility for our wedding--STAYING LATE past her contract to get pics of our WHOLE reception and chatting with my cousins late into the evening. (I mean... what?! So generous. So not expected, of course. I just looked at her at the end of the reception like, "This has been so fun, Paula! Wait--PAULA?!   I have only the MOST AMAZING things to say about working with Paula on our wedding this July! She was one of two shooters in our package, and she was so, so great to have at the wedding. Obviously, most about-to-be-married folks prioritize photography, and Paula helped make us so glad we did. We can pick out her shots in our wedding album and smile at the way the capture the verve and excitement of our reception, alongside the more traditional, intimate images of the bridal party.
  
  Even beyond the quality of her images, though, I want to take a little extra time to talk about how much I appreciated Paula's very warm, but still unobtrusive presence on The Big Day. I felt like my husband (!!!) and I got to share so many special little moments, all the while being captured by Paula at a discreet distance--the best of both worlds in terms of not posing us, but still making sure to get the best shot! Not to say she was at all distant in personality: on the contrary, she was out on the dance floor all evening, smiling and getting HILARIOUS and wonderful shots of our relatives partying. She must have made them feel VERY comfortable, since they were striking some pretty incredible poses...
  
  And, most impressively, Paula truly, truly went above and beyond with flexibility for our wedding--STAYING LATE past her contract to get pics of our WHOLE reception and chatting with my cousins late into the evening. (I mean... what?! So generous. So not expected, of course. I just looked at her at the end of the reception like, "This has been so fun, Paula! Wait--PAULA?! She was also very responsive before and after the wedding by email and by phone. We are very happy with our pictures. The picture quality is amazing; our family still comments on Paula's ability to capture different angles and make all of her shots artistic. It is evident she has a natural creative ability and a great eye. We purchased the disc that contains all the pictures, which has proven to be very convenient to be able to print extras. Paula is so nice, professional, and flexible, and my husband and I really enjoyed working with her. (Our parents did, too!) We would definitely recommend her!

  I rarely bother to write reviews, but I could not go without putting in a review for this amazing photographer. Not only were the photos absolutely beautiful (all 945 of them), but they were returned in a very timely fashion, and the service could not have been better. Paula and her assistant were an absolutely joy to work with, and seemed to capture every single shot without me really ever seeing them at work.
  
  Where some photographers are extremely stringent on the hours they work, or their overtime is reflected in your bill, Paula arrived much earlier than I had requested and stayed much later. She was just so concerned with getting every shot I would ever want. She genuinely cares about every detail and about making sure you, your husband and your families are happy. I would recommend her to everyone looking for a photographer. She was absolutely an incredible and a joy to work with.
