We just got married in November at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills. Needless to say we needed a photographer that could capture those few special moments for us and adorn such a beautiful venue. Kenny and Vanessa proved to be the perfect fit for us. Everything from the engagement session in Big Bear to the wedding day photos, and even the photo booth came out amazing.

We really appreciated their attention to detail and creativity. Individually, they are both very accomplished photographers, so to have them both at our wedding made our day. But the one attribute that stands out about them is how comfortable they made us feel throughout the entire experience. Taking pictures can be awkward for some people, but they were able to capture some wonderful shots of us and our wedding party.

Being married themselves, they knew exactly how overwhelming the actual wedding day could be. They were very accommodating to our busy wedding day schedule and flexible when it came to making changes. Believe me when I say that flexibility is a very rare trait to find in photographers. Most of the guys we spoke to prior to meeting Kenny were very strict when it came to their time. We just felt more comfortable with Kenny and Vanessa because we never felt rushed.

With everything we had going on that day, the one thing we felt we missed out on was not being able to take pictures with all of our guests. Luckily we added their photo booth to our reception. The photo booth turned out to be a BIG hit at our wedding and was able to capture some great shots of all our guests.

Thanks guys for giving us a wonderful experience and for being apart of our special day.

We got married October 29th and 30th, that's right a two day wedding. We contacted Kenny and Vanessa around this time last year to go over the intricate details of what our wedding would entail. They definitely did not know what they where in for but they were more than willing to take on the challenge.

We had a Traditional Cambodian ceremony the first day and we wanted to make sure we were able to get a photographer who was flexible, open minded, and easy to work with. Being that this was Kenny's first Cambodian ceremony the pictures came out wonderful and more than what he had hoped for. Kenny and Vanessa's working chemistry definitely gave the outcome of our memories a unique kick. They were truly accommodating and always willing to go that extra step to make sure we were happy. As grueling as a two day wedding would be Kenny and Vanessa looked at the opportunity as a way to experience a different culture. I hope that we have helped Kenny and Vanessa understand the ways of a traditional Cambodian wedding. We can truly say that Kenny and Vanessa are one of a kind and it will be the best decision you make to book them as your photographer.

My husband and I are more than pleased with both our engagement session and wedding photos by Kenny and Vanessa. We first had our wedding date set for May 2010. With only a few months to the date we had to postpone and Kenny was so understanding and willing to shoot our wedding at a later date. We got married in October 2010.

We started our engagement session at Disneyland. My husband and I are big kids when it comes to that place and it had special meaning to us. We could just see Kenny's mind working as soon as we walked through the gates. From being so friendly and getting to know us, it really helped us both, being the shyest people on earth, to loosen up and have fun with it. He shot so many photos we had so many amazing shots to work with. Photos were used on everything from invitations, guest book, wine labels, wedding website and more.

Then came the wedding day. They were there before anyone (huge plus!) and helped me carry my things to the bridal room. Kenny and Vanessa were so sweet! They began right away taking photos when we were getting ready...even when it was super stressful...they made me laugh and relax. They even managed to score a few shots of my husband as he was almost late and sick due to being nervous the morning of.

There is so much going on that a bride just doesn't see unless the photographer gets a photo of it. Kenny and Vanessa did just that! I was able to see the prep of the wedding even though I couldn't be out there. They captured every detail.

Every detail of the ceremony had a photo to go with it as well, both the laughs and tears of joy.

The reception was fast moving as we were limited on time at our venue but they made sure they shot every important event. What was most amazing is that Kenny even took pictures of us with our guests as they left. And during the wedding a huge group shot was taken that I was totally surprised about and will cherish forever.

After the reception they spent some time with only my husband and I taking shots of just us. We were so tired but they still had energy and got some beautiful photos of us and made us laugh in the process.

Photography of our wedding was of huge importance to me and I am happy to say that I had not one worry on the day of the wedding knowing they were there shooting away.

I highly recommend Phan Photography for your photography needs. You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I had the pleasure of having Kenny Phan as our photographer for both our engagement session as well as our wedding. Kenny has a way of working with people where he makes you feel comfortable and he makes the photo sessions very fun. At our wedding, we were just enjoying the moment and he captured so many precious moments that we will forever cherish.

At the conclusion of our wedding, we felt that he was more than just our photographer, but he was a crucial part of our day in capturing our precious memories. My husband and I were both blown away by the photos from both our engagement session as well as our wedding. For a couple of average people, he made us look fairly photogenic! :) Additionally, I had been a little worried about how my prosthetic eye would look in the photos (I had lost my eye from cancer) and had expressed my concerns to Kenny. I thought it would be quite a challenge, but Kenny was able to work around the issue and took many photos at various angled positions and my prosthetic eye looks so natural in the photos! Kenny had also made me feel comfortable and confident about embracing my prosthetic eye because that is a strong part of my identity and life experiences. Kenny is very TALENTED!

My husband and I were so impressed by our photos from our engagement session that we used them for multiple purposes (our invitations, our website, our guestbook that Kenny created, our picture at the entrance of our ceremony and reception). Initially, we weren't sure if we would even do an engagement session and now I feel so glad that we did! We are also so happy with our wedding pictures that we'll be using them for thank you cards as well as other personalized thank you gifts for our guests. We can't wait to see our final wedding photo album, but we have no doubt that it will be amazing because we've seen the pictures from the wedding (over 800 of them) and are thrilled with the outcome. Our guestbook that Kenny created was absolutely lovely and our guests just loved our personalized guestbook.

During our reception, we also decided to go with the photobooth. Initially, we weren't sure if we wanted the photobooth but it was a big hit! It entertained our guests and Kenny had a lot of fun props (wigs, funny hats, big glasses, etc.). Since the photos print on the spot, our guests were able to take home with them a fun souvenir from our wedding. Our guests went wild in the photobooth!

The very best decision that we made for our wedding was going with PhanPhotography and we highly recommend PhanPhotography for anyone looking for exceptional photographers! Kenny went above and beyond what we could have asked for and we will forever be grateful for all that he has done for us.

There's something to be said about a husband and wife team -- their talent and styles complement each other in ways that another photographer + second shooter can't match (and by the way, neither of them are "second shooters"). What's kinda cool about this is everything that happens behind the scenes seems like it's done together (for example, you've got two sets of talented eyes choosing your proofs, like a "quality assurance" check if you want to look at it from a business perspective!) but it all comes through to the client in one "voice."

Here are a few things I'd like to note:

Attention to detail. I gave Kenny a last minute list of all the little extras shots I wanted, like my grandmother and mother's jewelry that I was wearing and the hand sewn ring bearer pillow and he captured these beautifully. Kenny and Vanessa are both really good at setting up shots, whether it's just a couple or a large group. Even the ones that are clearly posed end up looking natural.

Professional. They run their business the way a business should be run -- responsive, timely, value driven for clients. They have that right mix of professionalism and compassion. They have a young family and understand that everyone is busy... yet when they're with you they make you feel like they've got nothing but time, which makes it really easy to relax. Also, the way they set up their proof site is awesome. I've seen photographers where their proof site is really difficult to navigate, takes tons of time to load, etc. Their proof site is really user friendly.

Open to new ideas. They like it when you suggest a different venue, pose, bring props, etc. but also FULL of ideas themselves. During our engagement session, Kenny asked us what our "goal" was for the day (again, this goes back to professionalism. They may be artists but they know the client comes first.) I'm not sure if every photographer asks that question, but the point is that they care about how you feel about your session and the end result. At the same time, they recognize most of us don't know what to do in front of the camera and need some direction, and they're happy to provide just that.

They're also constantly improving their business offerings all around. They have a photobooth service too and initially this wasn't a priority for me, but I am so glad we decided to do it. The photobooth was a HIT and guests loved it, as it was efficient, user friendly and FUN. I'm telling everyone now that a photobooth is a definite must at a wedding!

Finally, what I love about working with them the most is that they can tell the story. I just got back our proofs and as you page through the thumbnails it's almost like watching stills from a video. They were amazing at capturing the moments and emotion of the wedding day. I suggest following their blog, as both the personal posts as well as client session posts are indicative of not just their talent but how warm and genuine they are as photographers and as a family.

I'll be completely candid and say I was a little anxious and almost worried, not about the quality of photography but because after seeing non professional photos from friends and family's cameras, I hated my wedding make-up. Then I saw Kenny and Vanessa's proofs and I was pleased with the way my make-up photographed. I'm not sure what they did during the processing or worked some Photoshop magic, but someone told me that it's the photographer's job to make you look good (I would think it would be my stylist, but oh well) ... anyway, if that isn't "talent" and delivering for the client, I'm not sure what is!

We had Kenny and Vanessa do our engagement and wedding photos. With the both of them at our engagement session, we found their ideas and techniques to be quite creative. Kenny and Vanessa are both very down to earth and easy to work with. They were quite patient even when subjects were not quite cooperating, like when Kenny was trying to shoot a huge family shot. There more people there are in the shot, i think, the harder it was to control who would stand where and such. He made sure you could see everyone's faces which both took time and patience on Kenny's part. I thank Kenny for making each shot count. Kenny and his two other photographers were also kind enough to stay late for our reception dinner which ran late. They got all the pictures from the beginning of the day till the very end. Usually your wedding day is super hectic. You have to make sure everything is going as planned and as scheduled. With so many things to worry about on your wedding day, its nice to have a photographer that you don't have to worry about. Kenny knew how to handle everything. He was also there to calm me down when things seemed to get out of hand. Thank you Kenny for going above and beyond.

Vanessa and Kenny are such gifted photographers. They have great eye for things, artistic, and they capture amazing unexpected moments as well as profile shots. They are professional in every sense but also maintains a very personal level of relationship with clients, which I loved. They are responsive, diligent, prompt, and can be both casual or formal with their work. I cannot think of any particular areas of their work that needs improvement. Worth every penny we paid and will definitely refer to friends and families and will work with them again with in our future life events. Highly recommended, if this was eBay I'd say A+! =)

My husband and I are so happy with the work that Vanessa has done. The quality of each photo truly embodies the emotion and meaning of our day and the way she arranged them definitely captures the energy and feel of our wedding. Her professionalism was unparalleled and her effort to get everything within a reasonable amount of time was superb. Thanks to Vanessa Lam Photography, we will always be able to relive our special day.

Vanessa wasn't my actual photographer, but she should have been. Vanessa accompanied my florist to our venue to capture some shots of the flowers and she ended up getting a ton of shots that my photographer neglected to get (like our reception tables, flowers, our chuppah, various aisle shots, etc.). I was elated when my florist told me that Vanessa had taken some amazing shots, but I had no idea how good they would be!!! They were more professional and well done than our actual photographer photos, which we paid a lot of money for. After our wedding, I got in touch with Vanessa to see if she would be so kind as to share some of them with me. She was so helpful and gracious in helping me save some of my 'missed' wedding memories. She gladly helped me download everything in full resolution. She even followed up to make sure everything was good. I will definitely contact Vanessa for future events in our family (baby?!)!! She is wonderful. She has a great eye and pays attention to all those little details and captures them beautifully.
