  Roland was absolutely fantastic! He was extremely professional, and so helpful with anything that we needed for the wedding, including questions unrelated to photography. The photos came out better than we ever imagined! Roland was so easy to get in touch with when needed, and was so flexible when we had to move the ceremony inside. He, as well as our other vendors from 617 Weddings (Russell Smithe and Chuck Uglietta), did everything in their power to get us outside for the final dance that we had planned with sparklers, even though it had been raining most of the night! Roland made our night so memorable, and now we have amazing images to showcase the most wonderful night of our lives. He is a wonderful person, so invested in his couples, and was very empathetic for the losses of a great-grandparent and father that were sorely missed at the wedding. He made sure to capture all of the ways that we created to have those we lost a part of our day. We would recommend him to anyone looking to have an amazing experience and wonderful person to capture their special day. We could never thank you enough Roland!

  Once again 617 weddings amazed me. Roland Silva is always on top of everything. Got all the shots I wanted and so much more!!! Absolutely breathtaking photos. Could never imagine that this was my wedding. Looked like a fairytale story. Wonderful!!!! Couldn't imagine having anyone else photograph our wedding.

  Roland Silva was great! We met him at a bridal expo and fell in love with his work then. He is very knowledgeable about everything to do with photography and has lots of years of experience. His response times are very quick and he is very easy to work with. He made sure to get the exact photos we were looking for and was extremely flexible. We were both very pleased with his work and have gotten lots of complements on our photos!

  We will always look back at our wedding day as the best day of our lives and we are so glad that Roland was there to capture every bit of it on camera. Our wedding images look AMAZING!!! Many family and friends have commented that our photos look like they came from a magazine! Roland was very helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process, and on our wedding day he delivered- Every time I look through the images, I have a new favorite picture!

  We were introduced to Roland through our DJ Chuck Uglietta from 617 Weddings. We had an amazing engagement shoot were Roland taught us how to property pose. He captured our wedding perfectly. I would highly recommend Roland Silva and 617 Weddings to others. They are amazing!

  Roland was absolutely amazing. Although my entire bridal party and I were late to our venue, Roland worked quickly and efficiently from start to finish.   Roland worked well in multiple settings, starting at the hotel where he got some fabulous shots of my wife and her bridesmaids as they got ready. He got some great shots in and around the limo on the ride over, and was instrumental in making our "first look" photos happen in a way that was both special and memorable. The series of shots leading up to and including our first look are breathtaking (and this coming from the groom!).
  
  Roland worked well with both of our families, which is no easy feat. With some tricky family dynamics, as well as large numbers, Roland was both direct and respectful, which we appreciated. The bride and I wanted to be a part of the cocktail hour (which Roland knew ahead of time) and we didn't want the post-wedding family pictures to take too too much time. Roland was able to capture some wonderful shots AND gave us some time to spend with friends and family (he got great shots there too!).
  
  During the reception Roland was EVERYWHERE (as was his assistant-which I would highly recommend you add-it was definitely worth it!). If there was a great shot to be had, he got it.
  
  But what both my wife and I appreciated most about Roland is the fact that, in addition to his undeniable talent, he truly CARES about the shots. He helped us make the day, and capture the day, the way we wanted. And for that we are eternally grateful.

  Hiring Roland as our photographer for our wedding was absolutely one of the BEST decisions we made. I am someone that hates having my picture taken so needless to say I was nervous about being photographed all day and very worried about how they would all turn out (because I don't think I am very photogenic & usually end up hating how I look in photos).... That being said, I cannot express enough wonderful things about how AMAZING it was to work with Roland or how absolutely STUNNING our photos came out. As other reviewers have said, he talks you through the poses showing you how to stand, what to do etc making everyone look their best in the shots... Furthermore, his attention to details & the way he uses different exposures & lighting while taking photographs is brilliant and really shows in his work. He took a total of 1500 shots for our wedding and trying to narrow down our selection for order is so difficult! If you are looking for a photographer for your wedding, I highly recommend Roland - both my husband & myself couldn't have been happier. He was a pleasure to work with and you can tell photography is his passion which is no wonder why he is one of the best in the area.

  There are not enough superlatives to describe Roland's photography. Roland talked me and my husband through how to stand, pose, kiss and which way to face to ensure our photos were absolutely perfect and perfect does not begin to describe them. I did not realize how much proper exposure, lighting and positioning goes into formal photos and quite frankly, when I compare Roland's photos to others, I can see the difference.   Roland photographed our Boston Wedding on June 21, 2013. He was a pleasure to work with during the entire process! Our engagement photo shoot was a blast and we learned so much during this time that helped for the wedding photos! Our "First Look" photos are amazing, I think they really capture the emotion of the day. That is really what it is all about; the day goes by so fast - you really need a professional who cares enough to capture all of the memories! Roland and his team were an amazing value and I will personally recommend him to all of our friends for years to come!

  Couldn't have been more happier with Roland! I had Roland as my photographer for my wedding. As soon as I met him in his studio I knew I wanted him to photograph my wedding. As a novice photographer I understand what goes into a great picture. He understood what I wanted for my wedding. I am not someone into the typical lineup photos. I love interesting and unique photos. He seemed to understand that. He was professional from the beginning. In addition the packages were very reasonably priced and included various items including a beautiful album, two parent albums, and additional portraits. Roland even through in a sign-in book free because of a miscommunication which was an added bonus which shows professionalism. I felt on my wedding day that he captured all the moments I wanted and more. With a very helpful engagement session my husband and I knew how to stand and pose. We weren't worrying about that on the day of our wedding. I haven't seen my final album but I am sure it will be exceptional. At our initial meeting he showed me sample albums and they were so creative. They weren't your typical wedding albums. They were personal, artistic, and designed unique. I would recommend Roland for your wedding.

Not only is his work amazing, but he is also a wonderful person to work with. He adds a personal touch to everything he does. And continues to be that way long after the wedding. I remember when I ordered my parent's album and I wanted my mother to have it in time for her birthday, but I work far away and couldn't make it to Roland's studio to pick up the album in time. He offered to personally deliver it to my mother's house. And he did just that! Find me another photographer who would go out of his way like that for a bride months after the wedding!   Roland is the best of the best. He has been in this industry for almost 30 years! He truly loves what he does which is evidenced by the photos he produces. He has coached, taught and encouraged so many new photographers. He truly captures beautiful images. He served as the wedding photographer to at least 5 members of my family and so many friends. He takes the time to listen to all of your requests and ideas. He gets to know you and your family. When I pictured my wedding day as a child, my groom didn't have a face. The only man I clearly pictured was my father. Roland knew what a special bond my father and I had. He captured the most beautiful moments that we shared that day. He captured the love in his eyes and the emotion on his face. Roland brought me to tears after my father's death just two months after my wedding when he recalled the conversations he had with my father that day. He told me that my father told him that he was very ill and that he was only holding on for me. My father told him how proud and happy he was that day. My entire family cherishes the photos that he took of him during one of his final days. I cherish every photo that Roland took. He puts his heart and soul into every shot using state of the art equipment, technology and lighting. It is without hesitation and without reservation that I recommend Roland Silva, Jr.

  Roland was great in every way imaginable. He showed up early and took plenty of pictures before and during the wedding. He knows his way around weddings so he kept grabing pictures at the perfect moments. His assistant was great too. We couldn't of wished for a better photographer. And trust us ,you'll be amazed at the pictures after.

  Roland is a fantastic photographer - we couldn't have asked for better pictures. They were not only excellent, but artistic. The album had an extreme artist quality about it and we were floored when we saw it. It was more than what we expected. Everyone who has seen it has said it is the nicest they have seen. He worked so hard the day of our wedding and wouldn't take breaks even though we wanted him too. I highly recommend him.

  Great Guy. I saw his work at one of the wedding showcases and I fell in love with it. He is brilliant at what he does. I have still not picked out them 30 pictures for my wedding album (nearly 3 years later), but I have received the CD and the proofs, and they are wonderful.

  Roland was very professional and everyone kept commenting at how fast he took pictures. I had my originals on the site in just a couple of days. He got some really amazing shots. I can't wait to choose our pictures for our album and she his editing work!

  Roland is a well known photographer in the northshore area and has done most of the professional photography for the Danversport Yacht Club, where I got married, so he was an easy choice for us. He is very professional and prompt and he gets the job done. He is a little flakey, but if you can deal with that he does a wonderful job. The only problem I had was his responsiveness; he is very busy, particularly in the summer with weddings, and can be difficult to get ahold of. Regardless, he showed up on time, was kind and courteous to my guests, and the pictures came out fabulous!

  We used Roland when he was just getting started. His price was fenominal at the time. The quality of our photos is indescribable, he gave us 200 proofs and the photo album of 20 pictures that were photo edited. The unique ideas he has for photo taking is wonderful. He was a little slow getting back to us once the wedding was done but we understood he was busy.
