We loved working with Vanessa and having her be part of our special day! We first connected with Vanessa when I wanted a family friend to perform our wedding ceremony. She had many resources and steps to help us ensure the ceremony checked all the boxes and was legal. When it ended up not working out for our friend to perform the ceremony, Vanessa agreed to drive from Lynchburg to Richmond to perform the ceremony for us, helping us incorporate our family friend as a guest speaker! She was kind, well spoken, and a joy to be around. She was so quick to respond and answer all of my (many) questions during the wedding planning process. We appreciated all she did to help our ceremony flow well and to make our day special to us. -

Admittedly, Vanessa was an officiant recommended to us by our original officiant who had to cancel a week before our wedding. Despite the circumstances, Vanessa stepped up to the plate with great energy and passion. She was incredibly reassuring, supportive, and calming throughout the entire process. With only a week to get to know us, she treated us like old friends. She assertively took charge of both the rehearsal and wedding ceremony and everyone followed her lead. Even before the ceremony, she came to both my spouse and me to ask if we were okay and if we needed anything. She took pictures with us and even got a tattoo from our tattoo artist that was offering Friday-the-13th style tattoos during the reception. With something that could have been a disaster, she gave great guidance and saved the day! We would highly recommend Vanessa to any couple wanting an officiant that is open, accommodating, supportive, and kind.Vows by Vanessa's reply:

Vanessa was an outstanding officiant for our wedding! She took the time to get to know us as a couple and wrote a beautiful and personal ceremony. We received so many compliments from our guests on how warm and intimate the ceremony felt. She also helped us come up with a unique unity ceremony that fit us as a couple and made each of our guests feel special and included. Vanessa was so great with the whole process. My husband and I contacted her about 2 weeks before our date to elope and even though it was kind of last-minute, Vanessa made it less stressful! She was so interested in our story and really wanted to make our ceremony special. She even helped us pick the location to make it the best it could be!Vows by Vanessa's reply:

We were referred to Vanessa after the original person we were referred to was unable. From the first conversation we had we loved her. She loves what she does and the shows. It also meant a lot to us, we both come from different religions backgrounds and wanted to find someone who valued being an officiant. She helped us with our marriage license and was able to come to our rehearsal dinner, which we are very happy we had her there to help us figure our procession line up. Fantastic experience
Vanessa is absolutely wonderful! Despite already being booked with two weddings on the day we wanted, she was so kind to fit us in. Vanessa asked us questions about our relationship to give us a beautiful tailor-made ceremony. After the ceremony, Vanessa left us a copy of the script to keep as a memory of our special day. Vanessa was our favorite vendor out of everyone we worked with on our wedding day. Communicative, kind, and dedicated to her work, I felt from the first conversation that she truly cared about our wedding as much as we did. She really listened to us, and took the time to get to know us with intentionality. Our wedding ceremony was just perfect. She used what she had learned about us so wonderfully in her writing, and she was there to guide us every step of the way. Our ceremony was so heartfelt, fun and just exactly as we wished it to be. Vanessa took what she knew about us and created the most genuine vows and ceremony we could have ever asked for. Perfect Fit
I thought I would be able to have my wedding officiate come from my church. Cut to me frantically searching fo someone reasonable a week before the wedding. I am very ill so I needed the wedding to last less than 30 minutes. She did that. I needed the service to honor my Catholic parents, my Christian friends, and my husband’s Muslim Faith. She did that. So reasonable compared to what we found while we were searching. So kind. So considerate. She was perfect.Vows by Vanessa's reply:

Having that same best friend OFFICIATE your wedding and write the most beautiful ceremony that any couple could ask for. The amazing thing about Reverend Vanessa Vaz isn't that she she wrote a thoughtful and totally personalized ceremony for her best friend, it's that even if she had just met us, she would have taken the time to get to know us so she could deliver the same level of intimacy and personalization as If she had known us for years. Vanessa there isn't anyone else I would have wanted to marry us that day and I'm so grateful that you were able to turn our love, emotion, and life into words. The memory of that day is something that I know will last us all the days of our life together. Thank you for the gift of YOU and all you did to make the most important part of our day that much more special!! We love you!
