  We interviewed several to officiate our wedding and we found an amazing gem. Leigh Ann Phillips-Knope gave us each a questionnaire which we made us dig deep into our relationship. She then took our answers and crafted a very personalized ceremony which we then got to review. We had so many compliments at the wedding about the ceremony. Her words were touching and memorable. We can't say enough good things about this company.

  When searching for someone to conduct our wedding, it was very important to us that the ceremony was unique and reflected our personalities. Too often we've attended ceremonies that were dull and scripted, and we promised ourselves and our guests this wouldn't be the case.
  
  Roots of Change was a perfect match for us, and our expectations were exceeded in every way possible! The process that Leigh Ann used to design our one-of-a-kind ceremony is extremely creative and expressed us and all of our emotions perfectly. Not only did she create our individual love story, but she told it from both of our perspectives, which allowed our family and friends the opportunity to fully understand our love. Leigh Ann was a true partner in planning our special day and we could not have asked for a better person to share this special time with!

On the day of our ceremony, Leigh Ann was ahead of schedule every step of the way and was a major contributor in making it the best day of our lives. Our friends and family had so many compliments about the ceremony and of both Leigh Ann’s words and professionalism. The questions she had us respond to in preparation for our ceremony were comprehensive and even made us feel closer to each other as we reflected on our relationship leading up to the wedding. Originally, when we found Leigh Ann, we were living in Texas (and Leigh Ann in Michigan), and we had a great feeling about her solely based on our interactions by phone and email.   I cannot say enough good things!
  Before meeting Leigh Ann, I didn't think that it would be possible to have a ceremony that reflected both my relationship with my fiance as well as my beliefs about marriage. She turned our wishes into a beautifully written ceremony, while taking the time to get to know us and making sure it represented what we wanted for the most important day of our lives.
  On the big day, she executed that vision perfectly.
  All our guests remarked that it was a beautiful and unique ceremony, and were very touched by how personal it was.

  Leigh Ann is just so wonderful. She is caring, thoughtful and, genuine. Her ceremony was moving and passionate. My family and friends are still talking about it. My sister asked me, "Can the two of you get married again? Cuz that was the best wedding we have ever been too." Leigh Ann has a well established process of getting to know you and your significant other in such a way that she gets to know the real you without taking a life time to get to know you. We loved how personal our ceremony was. We were so used to cookie cutter weddings. Ours was unique to our story.

  When my now husband and I were looking into a wedding ceremony we were first sucked into the whole circus aspect worrying about the venue and the flowers and the lights and...etc. We knew that only a few things were really important to us (my engagement ring, my dress, the music, and our officiant), however we played the game to start until we realized it was not us. So we cancelled the original venue and trappings and focused on what was important. I give this intro so that I can say how wonderful Leigh Ann was in every aspect. Through the planning stages she asked us many questions and listened carefully to our answers. She tailored the ceremony for us, addressing our needs and wishes. Our simple ceremony with no flowers other than my silk flower bouquet and my sister and maid-of-honor's bouquet, no decorations, and only two people in our wedding party is one our family and friends still talk about. The ceremony was so original with touches even the chapel had never seen before. We even have wishing stones that were part of the ceremony in our home to enjoy forever.
  
  Leigh Ann's help made our wedding truly a day to remember. We still pull out our hard copy of our ceremony to enjoy it. We cannot thank her enough for all her work and care in crafting the verbiage of our day into something no one involved will ever forget. Our simple venue and celebration is the ceremony of a lifetime.

  My wife and I interviewed a half-dozen officiants before we were lucky enough to meet Leigh Ann and Kim of Roots of Change. Upon meeting them, you immediately feel their love for each other. This passion towards each other directly translates to their love of officiating. In our experience, Leigh Ann wrote the ceremony while Kim attended the wedding to deliver a witty, funny, serious and heart-felt experience to all whom attended.
  
  Throughout the process of creating the ceremony, both Kim and Leigh Ann were professional and responsive. They kept us on schedule without being pushy. Their questionnaire really helps to get the process started and we do recommend not cheating by looking at each other’s answers. The result of this effort was a better ceremony then either of us imagined.
  
  The flow of the ceremony was also amazing. Leigh Ann and Kim were able to incorporate a multitude of events (i.e sand ceremony, mother speeches, remembrance candle, etc) while maintaining an upbeat and seamless event. Kim was even able to incorporate a family member who passed away the day before into the ceremony.
  
  Lastly, although I could continue the praise for pages, Leigh Ann and Kim’s summary of our Love Story was not only great for our attendees but heart felt by us. Leigh Ann and Kim create an unbelievably personal ceremony towards your specific wants and needs. They balance giving this creative freedom to the couple while using their experience to make it all work together at your once in a lifetime event.

  It's hard to find the right words to describe how amazing Leigh Ann and Kim are! From our first meeting, we felt so comfortable and inspired by them both. Leigh Ann worked with us to create an amazing ceremony. We wanted to include non-traditional readings and rituals that were important and unique to us. Leigh Ann completely and intuitively understood how we wanted our ceremony to feel, and she did such an amazing job of incorporating all of our ideas seamlessly. It was truly a collaborative effort and her process of crafting the ceremony based on the telling of our own stories made it such a personal experience. We heard from so many people that our ceremony was the most meaningful and unique they had ever witnessed.
  
  Leigh Ann was a strong source of support and guidance throughout the wedding process, especially on our wedding day. Her training and experience combined with her natural ability to convey a sense of calm and peacefulness make her a very professional yet sincere and loving celebrant.

  Leigh Ann and Roots of Change put together a ceremony that was beyond anything we could have envisioned, in the best way possible. She seamlessly weaved together the story of who we are and how we came to fall in love, our values, personalities, and the important traditions we wanted to reflect from each of our backgrounds. Through her process of asking a series of great questions about our background, relationship, and what we love about each other, then offering lots of insight and options to get our input in crafting a unique ceremony, she did her magic and found a way to weave it all together in a way that was deeply personal and true to ourselves. She struck the perfect tone for us of light and humorous, grounded and spiritual, and gracious and loving. I can’t even remember how many comments we got like, “ that was my favorite ceremony I have ever been to” or “the ceremony is usually the boring part but I really enjoyed it and didn’t want it to end,” or “wow, it must feel really good to love somebody that much.” We highly recommend Leigh Ann and Roots of Change to anyone looking for a deeply personal ceremony that reflects the love, stories, and values within your unique relationship.

  I am so glad we booked Leigh Ann as our officiant. I can't tell you how many people complimented us on the ceremony. It was truly unique and personal to us, and gave everyone a glimpse into who we are as a couple. She even included a rememberance to my dear grandmother in the ceremony, and many of my relatives told me that they have never cried at a wedding in their entire lives, but this brought tears to their eyes. Most of my friends dread having to sit through another boring wedding ceremony, but even they were riveted and wowed by how unique and personal the ceremony was. You could book another officiant and get a ceremony that thousands of couples have used, or you can book Leigh Ann and get a ceremony that is personal to you and your beloved.   Leigh Ann was the perfect officiant for us. From the minute we met with her, she had whatever quality it was that we wanted in an officiant--some combination of her warmth, humor, experience, and genuine interest in celebrating with us made us totally confident in hiring her to officiate. And, the price was very reasonable for the amount of work she put into our ceremony. She was very responsive via e-mail, and went through multiple rounds of ceremony edits with us to make our ceremony reflective of the tone we were looking for. The way she ran the rehearsal was so reassuring--she really knows how to run a ceremony, and how to direct guests and families in a respectful way. Many people came up to me after the ceremony saying how great it was, and what a joyful presence she was. I couldn't recommend her more highly to anyone looking for a secular, meaningful ceremony.

  Yesterday was a dream come true and we are deeply thankful for your contribution to the union of our lives. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and filled with such love and positive energy. So many of our friends and family came up to us afterward complimenting our incredible officiant; her energy, positiveness, sincere joy, dedicated reading, and great personality are just a few of the lovely comments. The way you involved all of us, Mary, myself and our core group of friends and family in creative expressions of caring made me feel very supported for the wedding to come as well as for our entire life together. It was blissful to be outside in our backyard, half of us in the shade, half in the sun, on blankets, while you asked participants to offer loving wishes for our future. I especially liked the way you integrated our personal beliefs into the ceremony, yet created space for diverse participants to feel a part of it all.

  Leigh Ann could not have been a better officiant for our wedding. My spiritual background and that of my husband and our diverse families were all taken into account. The ceremony that Leigh Ann designed was beautiful, exquisitely customized to our needs, and magical. We felt that she did a marvelous job of including all of the ideas and concepts we wanted without alienating our relatives with more "traditional" beliefs. Leigh Ann has a tremendous intuition, and a wide-open heart and spirit that shines through in her finely-woven ceremonies and in her presentation of these ceremonies. It was marvelously easy working with Leigh Ann. Her flexibility and intelligence was always very clear in her manner of working with us. I would wholeheartedly recommend Leigh Ann to anyone who desires a very special wedding ceremony or other life-transition ceremony. She also officiated at my twin sister's Celebration of Life, and I could not imagine a more special tribute to my darling sister.
