Jovonnne is a wonderful woman who cam to my house and altered my too big dress to fit me perfectly. It was a stapless gown and I am a 34DD so proper fit was essential. The fit was so perfect that some of my perceptive friends noticed that I did not need to tug, pulll, or hoist even once.
I also requested to have some sequins removed that I didnt like. Jovonne suggested perhaps I shouldnt as the bedaing was attached to a continuous stitch. She agreed to remove them at my request. This resulted in the loss of beading during the wedding and reception. Not enough to show in pictures, so overall; still perfect!Jovonnne is a wonderful woman who cam to my house and altered my too big dress to fit me perfectly. Jovon helped me design my dress and she made it for me with amazing skill and fun. I would not recommend her to someone who wants a $7,000 + dress and is extremely picky. But I could not be happier with my dress, she did an amazing job.Jovon helped me design my dress and she made it for me with amazing skill and fun. Overall, I thought Jovonne was excellent! I showed her a picture and she replicated the dress exactly to my taste; always seeking my input and approval. She also made my bridesmaid's dresses which weren't nearly as nice as mine (the dresses were noticeably uneven)--but still beautiful as she took on the entire 7 dress job on a very short 3-month notice! She was able to easily accomodate mine & my bridesmaids schedules, was always knowledgeable, courteous, and delivered an excellent product--my dream wedding dress. I loved that she worked closely with me, was honest with me, and involved me when choosing fabrics/materials our dresses. I think the only negative was that my dress clasps on the halter dug into my neck so that I had a chunk of skin taken out of my neck which caused some bad bruising and scars-but that was just a wardrobe malfunction that needed more cushioned material. I thought Jovonne was phenomenal and extremely talented and would highly recommend her to anyone needing a dressed composed or altered :)Overall, I thought Jovonne was excellent! Filthy and unprofessional
Had a beautiful wedding gown that needed minimal alterations
When I got my dress back it was filthy as if it was lying on the floor for weeks and smelled AWFUL
She said she had to bring it to Jersey to complete the work. After bringing it to her attention she was unapologetic n rude

This is the first review I have ever written online, mostly because I've never felt compelled enough to do so. However, I feel I should warn others before they go to this "company" and seamstress. This was the WORST experience I've ever had with someone, let alone on my own wedding day. I had a good experience leading up until the final fitting (which was the day before my wedding)...and here's why: I went to 2 fittings prior to my final fitting, which was scheduled *according to the seamstress' availability (Jovonne), on the day before my wedding. I was told not to worry, everything would fit fine, minor adjustments that could be done with ease. I showed up on Thursday to "The Dress Matters" in Media, PA, with my Mom and my Sister to try on my dress for the last time, and take it home. Not only did they have the wrong dress in the dressing room, but my dress NOT at the shop, Jovonne un-apologetically said she she made a mistake and left in New Jersey. At this point I wanted to cry, but didn't. Didn't raise my voice, because I understood - people make mistakes! So, how can we resolve this? The salon owner, and Jovonne promised that the dress would be delivered that evening, and it was, at 10:30PM after my rehearsal dinner. However, to much of my disappointment, all of the changes that were supposed to be fixed, were NOT fixed. The salon owner, at 10:30PM the night before my wedding day, standing in my bedroom, promised that Jovonne would be at the house with her sewing machine/kit to fix anything that needed to get fixed. On the morning of my wedding day, I woke up to 10 text messages from Jovonne saying that "she had completed the work she needed to, and she didn't know what else I wanted from her." I explained the situation, that I needed her to come and fix my dress. She refused and said the only time she could make it would be 1 hour prior to when I needed to be on my way to the church. She never fixed my dress, an downright refused any kind of reimbursement. This is the first review I have ever written online, mostly because I've never felt compelled enough to do so.
