This place is a hidden GEM for weddings! I can't even begin to rave enough about the Sheraton. We hosted our wedding ceremony in one of their ballrooms and our reception on the 38th floor with 360-degree views of downtown Dallas. The space is BEAUTIFUL! You have the whole floor to yourself. The value could not be beat -- it was a fantastic deal and better than any other hotel we evaluated in the area. The Sheraton team went above and beyond to make all our dreams come true. They even learned how to make our favorite drink from a local restaurant in Dallas and brought us in for tastings to make sure it was perfect -- all at no charge. I could go on and on, but truly this was a perfect venue. The food was GOOD quality, and the service during the wedding was stellar. I would book them again in a heartbeat because they were such a delight. We really appreciated that they did not nickle & dime us and that we always felt like they truly cared about our wedding. Give Taylor Martin at the Sheraton a call. She's fantastic!

On March 13th, our daughter’s wedding was held at the Sheraton in downtown Dallas. Thanks to the tireless support of Brenda Castillo, the event was everything we hoped it would be. Our guests were so impressed with the beauty of the room with the Dallas lights at night, the quality of the food, prompt service, and the welcome atmosphere in their hotel rooms, the ceremony room and the fabulous reception. Brenda worked with us every step of the way, with help, advice, and flawless execution. She was patient with our many detailed questions and addressed everything as promised.

We can’t thank her enough for her efforts, and wanted you to know how much we valued her help!

    Sincerely,

Dr. and Mrs. Bruce J. Jackson

The Sheraton Dallas is an amazing venue! Our ceremony was held in a beautiful ballroom and our reception was in the Chaparral ballroom on the 38th floor over looking dallas! Being a major conference hotel, The meeting spaces are all beautiful and the staff is trained to handle large parties. In the beginning we worked with a sales person who at first was wonderful but then went MIA whenever I needed something and was rude. However, when Amber Cornelius took over my event, everything went wonderfully! She was always available for questions and ideas, quick to respond if she wasn't immediately available, and made me feel as if my wedding was as special to her as it was to me. Even after the wedding she has written me little emails to ask how things are going and just to say congratulations again! All of my guests were blown away by the hotel and I would love to host another party there, with Amber's help!
They didn't receive a perfect score because:
    1. They have one room in the hotel in which they want you to book for the ceremony, however, I wasn't crazy over the space. I wanted another ballroom but I had to wait until 2 weeks before the wedding to be able to book another room because businesses might want to use it for a conference. The hotel makes way more money on their conferences than my $50,000 wedding so even though I understood from a financial aspect, I didn't like that.
    2. This was a very expensive vendor. Even though it was worth it in the end, it was definitely more than we wanted to spend on our venue and made the budget jump way up. They gave discounts on the parking but we still had to pay to park...I wish this would have been included based on the amount of money we spent with them.

The Sheraton went above and beyond for us. We had a large wedding and had over 150 people staying at the hotel. All of the staff and concierge were very friendly and attentive to our needs. I have to say that it was disappointing how many of the ice machines were broken on each of the floors.

Brenda Castillo was great to work with, and was consistent with her service. She made sure every cookey thing was asked for was accomodated, the wedding was well staffed, we had enough rooms for pre-ceremony events.

We got so many compliments on the venue from our out of town guests. I highly recommend this venue for the view, the price of rooms, the quality of service, and the proximetly to Uptown, Downtown and Love field.

Our reception was on the 38th floor overlooking downtown! It was beautiful! It was plated seated and the waitstaff was great! I worked with brenda who was awesome she REALLY goes out of her way to make you happy ! If there are ANY wrongs she works hard to make them right. On the other hand their were some wrongs... They bartender served people upwards of 3 to 4 drinks at a time. He actually served a few minors ... multiple shots in wine glasses. This pushed the price of my capped time bar WAY up. Also, I really didn't like the fact that during the receptionthe brought me paper work to sign off on . Over all the room was great our hotel room was amazing ! The food and table service was extremly elegant and above expectations. I would say choose this venue only if you atleast have a day of planner to follow through on the details!

Great place if you have tons of time to correct mistakes and/or have a dedicated wedding planner. The Sheraton hotel offers beautiful views of Dallas and great food. But it stops there.

The event planner, Susana, is 100% disorganized. She double booked our room, could not keep track of what we wanted, couldn't tell us what we would expect the room to look like, screwed up our families reservations for the night of, charged the wrong credit card, and had me talking to their accountants, banquet staff, Audio/Video team, and reservations people. We were charged for things we were completely unaware of -like power! She was never a center point of contact and had me talking to all kinds of staff - and constantly trying to correct her errors. It was extremely stressful. Even the day of, I had to call her to let her know her staff had yet to setup. She wasn't even monitoring it. I was a nervous wreck for a couple weeks up to the wedding.

The hotel staff were wonderful. The people in reservations helped resolve the block wedding reservations, setup the room beautifully once instructed, and the food was delicious. The view was drop dead beautiful.

Just please beware that it is extremely frustrating to work with Susana. If I could do it again, I would have found a place that was more interested in putting together a beautiful reception and actually organized and interested. Or I would have worked with a dedicated wedding planner to fix all of the errors - and there so many!!

We choose the Sheraton for our wedding reception because the ballroom on the 38th floor was absolutely beautiful and was in my mind exactly where I wanted to celebrate the onset of our marriage. However, it was the biggest mistake we could have made. ANY other place besides the Sheraton at 400 North Olive Street would be a step up. We had so many problems with our event that we ended up getting a partial refund and apologies from the manager of the hotel. At the end of the day though, money and refunds does not change the awful memory that is cast upon your wedding day! You might ask what could be so bad...
    • Breach of Contract by double booking our Reception Room to impede on the
    set-up time for the event
    • Cancellation of all guests’ reservations conducted through the website
provided by the hotel. (We found out on the Monday before our wedding
that NONE of our guests had reservations and that the hotel had been
    overbooked.)
    • Receipt/ Final BEO Approval- Neither I, my husband, or my father ever
received any type of bill or receipt to sign and approve at the event. To this
date I have no idea how much I was charged or an itemized bill for where
    those charges went.
    • Employees were eating the hors d'oeuvres that we had ordered. Later I
learned that guests complained that there were not enough to go around.
    • Employees were blatantly cutting our wedding cake, serving themselves,
carrying it on a plate back to the kitchen, and eating it in front of our guests
before they were even in the kitchen. Not to mention we did not give any
approval for employees to consume any additional food and that this is not
    sanitary.
    • The Air Conditioner was not set to an adequate temperature in the room
before our guests arrived. As a result, the room for passed hors d'oeuvres
was so hot that our guests had to leave the room. To compensate for this,
the doors to the banquet room were opened and guests were no longer
served the passed hors d'oeuvres or offered drinks.
    beforehand.
    • My father recognized Employees not on the banquet staff (not in uniform)
entered the ballroom during the reception, helped themselves to free drinks,
and then we had to ask them to leave. In addition, both my husband and I
saw a man loitering in the entry area of the reception, and made a point to
ask him if there was anything that he needed. His reply was, “No, I am with
the hotel. It’s okay, I am just looking.”
    • We ordered 200 extra drink tickets and were told that we would not pay for
any unused tickets. I know that we only used about half that amount, but I
was never told how many went unused, and since I have not received a bill,
I do not have any idea as to how many we were charged for.
    • The Bride’s Parents, as well as all other guests, were not allowed to have a
late checkout even though this was pre-arranged.
    • Additional Problems: The bride and groom were not served first. In an establishment such as the Sheraton one would expect that this would be something that would not even need mentioning. Complimentary champagne and strawberries were delivered to the bride and groom via an 8:00am wakeup call the following morning with the message, “that these items had to be delivered.” In addition, towards the end of the evening the staff was so anxious to clear the tables they began taking the guest’s favors and both me and my husband had to ask the staff to bring our own personal items back.

One gem of the event was the wedding coordinator, Brenda, did work very hard and tried to make things right by us.

However, save yourself a huge headache and the all of the stress the week of your wedding and your wedding day. Choose another vendor, any other vendor!
