Spring Haven Mansion and Estate Reviews

Tammie and Danny Southerland, owners of beautiful historic Spring Haven Mansion in Hendersonville, TN are a breath of fresh air! They no sooner purchased Spring Haven Mansion and then Covid hit! But due to their numerous years of planning and implementation of beautiful weddings (and many other types of events!), they are a beautiful team to have on your team! They are honest, ask lots of questions, so very hardworking, and excellent listeners! Oh, and did I mention, they are funny? And they so love each other and their own family!! All things our family could relate to!!

Their desire to make your event everything you want it to be is like no one else. From the first time we met them and walked their property and discussed wedding options for our daughter (Kara) and her fiancé', Keith, we felt at home. Tammie's years of experience, contacts and connections with vendors, and her wedding knowledge finesse puts you immediately at ease....yes, even with COVID in the midst. We didn't know if we were planning an event for 30 or for 150 because of COVID but we knew that through it all, we would be guided.

Regularly scheduled planning meetings took place between Kara, Keith and Tammie and her team. Deadlines were given and met but done in a scheduled way so that you don't get totally overwhelmed and frustrated. Troubleshooting of potential concerns were dealt with ASAP.

I personally liked the fact that the contract covered most everything other than the officiant, beer/wine/liquor. The contract had built-in budgets for items so after all was said and done, we pretty much knew what we were spending. Any extras that were not part of the contract that you still wanted, Tammie made suggestions to great vendors and gave ball-park pricing as to what you can expect. She also was very honest in some 'Pintrerest ideas' that we brought to the table. We were able to avoid some of those trappings that bring on additional stress and added cost. Thank you Tammie. When it did come to items/services that we wanted that were not necessarily part of the original contract, direction was given on where to go and who to seek out. Clarification was made. Sticking to our vision became easy.

I live in DE and Kara was finishing a difficult grad school program and Keith was crazy with work obligations. Considering these constraints, we left so much 'judgement' up to Tammie and her team. We could not have been more delighted!

ADDITIONAL BONUS - There is even an out building on the property that is listed through AirBNB - it is an historic 'quarters' that we rented for the bridal party (ladies) to stay for the Thursday-Sunday of the wedding week. Danny made a cobbler over the fire in a dutch oven for the ladies.

My best friend, Jean, joined me in making dozens and dozens of chocolate dipped strawberries ...where did we make this mess? Right in Tammie's personal kitchen at her insistence. While on the subject of food, the caterer and her staff and her offerings as well as the wedding cakes were beautiful and so delicious. So many compliments given by our guests!

The property was beautiful in May (5/22/21) and the brook was babbling with clear, spring water. Lawn games were put out and opportunities for intimate gatherings were provided on the property and were abundant. A bon fire the night before the wedding (after the rehearsal dinner) was great! Keith's family also loved the property and decided to invite the wedding guests to a pre-wedding BBQ - this took place also at Spring Haven Mansion but the look was very different than the wedding that took place the next day. Again, they know how to change things up. Oh, and the talented, handsome, singing bartender was a bonus and enjoyed by all!

The lawn and property was just perfect and we were thankful the weather cooperated. But in the midst of it all, we knew that if we needed to move things into the mansion due to weather issues, no problem.

Thinking on your feet and being flexible are key when planning something for so many coming from afar; and with Covid on our heels, we talked through precautions, and sanitizer stations, masks, etc. We were in excellent hands with Tammie and Danny and we are thankful for them and now call them wonderful friends! They truly blessed us by letting their home become ours for the duration!

You won't regret working with them and making your
'event' visions become a reality. We were blessed to have them willing to share their years of experience poured into our lives for this event.

One last thing, The Holiday Inn Express was a wonderful and close option to house our guests. Also, Hendersonville, TN has everything a bridal party could ever want and then some. There was great eateries for larger crowds to go out and have a drink, eat a breakfast, get a tan, hire a stylist, get your nails done, etc. Wonderful area and fantastic local businesses owned by lovely capable business people.

I cannot begin to express how incredible our experience was after choosing Spring Haven Mansion for our Welcome Dinner and Wedding (5/21 and 5/22/21)! Our first meeting with Tammie and her team left us feeling excited and confident in seeing our dream of an intimate, beautiful, outdoor wedding on historic property become a reality.

Over the next four months, Tammie and her husband Danny provided exceptional support as they helped us navigate the planning and decision-making process for our wedding weekend. They truly became like family to us and that's how they serve all of their clients - they go above and beyond and with incredible generosity. Tammie is the Mastermind Planner and is truly gifted; she is passionate about weddings and will work tirelessly to help make your day perfect.

We utilized the venue on Friday night after our rehearsal for a "Welcome BBQ Dinner", inviting most our wedding guests, as almost all were from out-of-town! Martin's BBQ catered, a family friend of Tammie's bartended and entertained us with his up-and-coming country music skills! Tammie and her team even provided lawn games for our guests! Truly a special night!

Can’t explain how happy we were with the new owners of this beautiful mansion!! They worked so hard for us on a very short notice reception. The flexibility and the extra time and effort they put into it was noticed and very appreciated!! We could not have had a better time and experience!! The grounds are just gorgeous for any occasion!!
