Sugar Hollow Retreat will forever hold a special place in my heart. This venue has absolutely everything you could want and need to create the most magical weekend for you, your spouse, and your closest family and friends. I will always be thankful I found Sugar Hollow Retreat and thankful for the staff that went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our weekend absolutely perfect and everything we dreamed of.
Here are a just a few highlights:
-The most romantic setting saying our vows in front of picturesque mountain views. Our pictures (shout out Mandy Rhoden Photography) are STUNNING.
-After our ceremony, my husband and I were given a private dinner on the Overlook Deck so we could have 20 - 30 minutes to be alone together right after becoming husband and wife (this was very important to me).
-A private, remote location, and a whole weekend to spend with our closest family and friends. Our guests had SO much fun staying in the cabins, hiking the trails, and enjoying nature. Every single one of our guests raved about how unique our wedding was and about how much fun they had.
-The newly built Overmountain Hall for the reception is a showstopper!! The layout, design, bridal suite, landscape, mountain views.....I can't even describe how perfect it all came together.
I could go on and on about the venue, but I can't run out of characters before I get to the hidden gem of Sugar Hollow Retreat....... and that is the Wedding Planner/Day-Of Wedding Coordinator, Kaleigh!
Kaleigh is an absolute ROCKSTAR. The sweetest human being ever that truly understands your vision and MAKES. IT. HAPPEN! She was always accommodating, understanding, and took as much off my plate as she possibly could. She got to know me as a bride, and as a person. I truly felt how important it was to her to make sure our wedding was everything we wanted and that my husband and I got to enjoy the weekend and not worry about anything. Kaleigh gave me great advice along the way and was always extremely organized. Being a 2020 bride came with challenges, and I am so grateful that I had Kaleigh to help guide me through planning a wedding during such a challenging year. Kaleigh is one of the most hardworking women I have ever met, and one of the kindest, as well. I'll never be able to thank her enough.
You will not regret booking Sugar Hollow Retreat. This wedding venue is going to start booking FAST, because there is nothing else like it! We are so happy to be a part of the Sugar Hollow Retreat family! -

Kayleigh and Nicole are true lifesavers!
As a former catering and events planner, I can’t thank Kayleigh and Nicole at Sugar Hollow Retreat enough for how amazing they were. Long story short, my original venue closed and canceled on me 12 weeks before my destination wedding. Needless to say I was panicking!! Kayleigh immediately responded to my inquiry and both her and Nicole were so responsive and empathetic through the entire process of replanning my wedding in 12 weeks! The venue itself is breathtaking and exactly what we wanted. I truly believe the stars aligned and our “take 2” wedding was truly what we were meant to have! As someone who has worked in the business, it’s easy to see that they are true pros. Thank you all for making our wedding weekend perfect!! -

Having our wedding at Sugar Hollow was truly a magical experience! We really wanted a wedding weekend where we had more than just one day to celebrate with our family and friends, and Sugar Hollow offered just that! Having on site accommodations was such a convince and really added to our whole experience. We had all of our bridal party stay in the lodge with us, and our family’s stayed in the other on-site cabins. Everyone loved their cabins and said how comfortable their beds were. The lodge, the largest cabin, was big enough for us to host a brunch on Friday morning, with all the equipment we needed to serve a large crowd. It served as a gathering place for everyone for the whole weekend and it was perfect. Everyone had a private room, but could also congregate in the bar or by the fireplace.
Sugar hollow has several options for your ceremony location, so we used one of their locations, the overlook deck as our first look location. We wanted all of our friends and family to experience all the beauty this venue had to offer so we planned a group hike on Friday to the overlook deck, it was the perfect spot for photos with everyone and we loved that everyone got to see the spot where we would do our private first look. There are tons of trails on the property but we took a gravel road up to the overlook so it was easily accessible for people of all ages. A few of our guests also used some of the trails during down time.
On of the other locations on the property is the Overmountain Hall, which was too beautiful to use just once, so we had our rehearsal dinner there, where we had a fire and played bags. The day of the wedding us girls got ready in their beautiful bridal suite, equipped with Hollywood mirrors and cute decor which was perfect for getting ready pictures.
Our ceremony took place right outside of Overmountain Hall and it was just breathtaking with the sunset in the mountains behind us. We loved their covered patio and side patios with cocktail tables right outside of overmountain to use for our cocktail hour.
The reception space at Overmountian Hall was everything we wanted and more! Just stunning! Their catering kitchen and bar came in handy, and the space was perfect for our group. One of my favored things about this space is their fireplace, and their beautiful tables and chairs!
To top off the beauty of Sugar Hollow their staff is amazing! Marty, the owner is the property checked in with us when we arrived to make sure everything was okay, and she was so sweet! She went above and beyond to help us during our wedding weekend and even helped us intercept a very important package to prevent a groomsman attire mishap. Kaleigh, the main coordinator at Sugar Hollow is one of the reasons that we booked Sugar Hollow. She was so amazing helping with vendor suggestions, and making my vision come to life. Even their maintenance man was so nice from the second we came for our tour, to helping set up the day of.
Our friends and family just raved about how much they loved the venue, and we loved that we got to share such an amazing experience with them! With all that this venue has to offer, there is no beating it! -

Beyond obsessed with this venue and the amazing coordinator. We definitely didn't want to leave and neither could our guests. All weekend long we heard our guests saying how beautiful the venue was and that it was the best wedding they've ever been to and we couldn't agree more. -

Wow. Where do I start? I live in FL and traveled up to Sugar Hollow Retreat in November to take a tour of the property. Sugar Hollow Retreat was the first venue we toured and we knew right away we wanted to have our wedding there.
Kaleigh is the amazing coordinator and yes, you need her to help take all of your wedding day worries away. The weather wasn’t looking good for our ceremony at the amphitheater, but she had a Plan B AND C. She’s not only there to help keep you sane the day of, but she’ll answer any questions you have during your planning process. She set up check-ins to see how my planning was going and kept me on track with the important things I needed to think about. Once I hired my vendors, Kaleigh got in touch with them and started putting together my timeline. I never knew the fine details of wedding planning and coordinating, but I would’ve been completely lost and overwhelmed without Kaleighs help.
We had our reception at the Overmountain Hall, which overlooks the amphitheater. We also took some time to ourselves after the ceremony to do private vows at the Overlook Deck. This was important to us so we could take a few minutes and soak it all in before the reception started.
I can’t even begin to put into words how beautiful the entire place is. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking.

There are not enough words to describe how awesome Sugar Hollow Retreat is for your wedding. We booked it sight unseen and would do it again. The views are AMAZING. The crew is amazing, Kaleigh makes sure the bride has the least amount of stress she can the day of and after as well as provides eye drops for allergies if needed. :) The accommodations onsite are awesome and honestly EVERYONE told us how amazing our wedding weekend was. I love Sugar Hollow and can't wait to make it a tradition to stay onsite for anniversaries in the future. -

We cannot recommend Sugar Hollow enough for your wedding day. The photos of this gorgeous venue speak for themselves. What made this venue even more perfect than the incredible views alone was how helpful, kind, and fun Kaleigh and everyone working alongside her were from start to finish. Kaleigh was always available for advice about the best vendors and ideas for planning, and she made me feel relaxed and at ease with every conversation we had along the way.
Another factor that made Sugar Hollow really special to us was being able to spend the entire wedding weekend on site with our closest friends and family. The wedding day felt like the cherry on top of a fun mountain getaway with our loved ones, and the fact that the fun didn’t have to end after the reception was a huge plus!
You can’t go wrong booking Sugar Hollow for your wedding! -

Best Weekend Ever
I can't say enough good things about Sugar Hollow. First of all, the place itself is BEAUTIFUL. Everyone who attended or even just saw pictures of the day absolutely raves about the views and the space and how beautiful it all is, and they are right. Also, the staff and everyone on site are WONDERFUL. Kaleigh and Julianna are a dream planning team. Not only did they communicate with me so well (and answer all my panic texts promptly), we also heard from all our other vendors how well they communicated with them too. They made the day so easy and stress free for me (not an easy feat). Also Marty, the caretaker, made sure we had everything we needed and all the spaces were set up so well for my guests. She also took care of a minor crises thanks to Mother Nature and handled it like a boss. I am already recommending this place to anyone I can and would get married here again in a heartbeat. Having all our out of state friends and family there with us the whole weekend was so special and they're all still talking about how fun it was. It was absolutely perfect for our day. -

Breathtaking Mountain Venue & Amazing Wedding Coordination Team
This venue and the staff were absolutely the perfect fit for Chase and I. Our entire wedding experience was stress-free and amazing. From our initial conversations with the staff and venue tour, all the way to our wedding day, Sugar Hollow Retreat took care of us. The venue property is incredibly beautiful, with all of the breathtaking views at the ceremony sites, and the on-site lodging for guests, which is warm and inviting. Yet the team was part of what sealed the deal for us. The inn keeper and event coordinator are the best. The event coordinator made herself available to us for full-service wedding planning throughout our entire engagement and also coordinated on-site on our wedding day. We received awesome guidance and excellent vendor recommendations. For all of their time and dedication, the price is extremely reasonable for this venue and the team that comes with it. Our fall wedding in the mountains was nothing short of magical - I would highly recommend Sugar Hollow Retreat!!!

The Ultimate Venue!!!!
Sugar Hollow is the ultimate wedding venue!!! We lived near the area and it was still like having a destination wedding. The location is gorgeous and private! Our guests loved it and haven't stopped talking about it!! We were able to have a wedding and have a place were could book overnight and not be asked to leave after a few hours for a reception. This is not the place where you will be charged an hourly rate. There are so many advantages to booking here! Now that I have talked about the location, I have to talk about how helpful, professional and just wonderful the people that work there are. We talked with Marty, Rex and Kaleigh. Marty is just amazing, available on the property and so caring and helpful. She was there when we toured the venue the first time and really help solidify our decision to book. Rex was available for any questions and everyone was very timely in their response. Last but not least, Kaleigh, who is the most supportive person. Kaleigh is the wedding planner that comes with the venue!! She saved the day more than once and was there every step of the way! We were so happy with Sugar Hollow! We had our dream wedding, better than we ever could imagine! I know anyone who gets married here will have the same experience! -

Not only is the venue STUNNING, but the wedding planner Kaleigh is amazing. She made my dreams for a wedding come true. She is so full of joy and not only does she just plan a wedding but she invests in her work and truly cares. The atmosphere of Sugar Hollow Retreat is one I could be apart of forever. 💗 Sacred mountain sanctuary 💗
I cannot begin to imagine a more wonderful wedding weekend. This past weekend blew away anything I ever could have dreamt all thanks to Kaleigh Hackfeld, the property’s wedding planner. My husband and I both have full time jobs that require a good deal of our attention and a 3 year old son, therefore we wanted something fun but struggled finding the time to plan. Thank the heavens for Kaleigh and the team at Sugar Hollow. I trusted her and she delivered like I never could have imagined.
The decorations, the setting, the timeline...she heard every request and made it a priority. I was relaxed and beyond thrilled all weekend and all of our guests raved about the venue and how special it was. It was so beautiful and Sugar Hollow made it look easy and effortless. We are so grateful for the best weekend of our lives and look forward to reliving it over and over on video.
